The bloke will essentially have a monopoly on access to space.  Appreciate IPOs are the wild west, but it's not likely to be the worst investment in the world...

I'm going to see where it is in a year and decide tbh.

It's a purely speculative stock and so much of it is pie in the sky. Yet there are some aspects that are positive too. Just not sure it's $1.8 trillion positive.

Will be interesting to see what happens, I expect a day over surge and then a fall back but Musk has managed to convince the financiers that he can turn water into wine many times before so who knows.

Looks hugely overvalued to me so if I do join in it'll be in the hope of the day one price skyrocketing so I can immediately sell again. I'm 50/50. Brain tells me don't do it but impulsive brain is saying "go on, dares you". 

Avoiding it short term expecting there will be a decent dip, may look into buying once it has dropped a decent way away from the initial price.

 

The market is brutal right now and people are lumping into a really speculative stock by going for SpaceX.

 

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong but right now I can't see the appeal.

A monopoly on Anglosphere access to space, perhaps. 

 

The Chinese are making their own waves too there.
