What made you pick IAG out from the crowd, out of interest?

No particular insight. Trusting that BA will always come back strong on its routes to the east and hedged by the fact Iberia has routes west to Latin America

If the drop is more cost related then route won't really matter?

True. At which the bounce back will take longer.

I just see that IAG had a sustained price and at some point, an airline group as big as that will eventually assert itself enough to always be around king enough for another high. And you know where that high is.

It's dipping. Unless you are looking to cash out any time soon it's time to lump a bit more in, that's how rich playboys like you get richer ;)

Never been so grateful to have to empty the investment pot a month ago to pay for an extension and new boiler.

A wonderful opportunity for anyone not retiring soon

I get the rationale, but most people have their investments already locked in getting hammered. Not like most people have piles of cash to invest sitting around that they’ve not invested already.

Leave your dry powder in premium bonds until it’s needed!

Other than making a very decent gain when this turns?

Invested money has lost and will only go back to break even when the geopolitical nonsense turns.

You'd have made 20% and then have a bigger dry powder lump for the next time Trump manipulates the markets 👍

If one did have cash, what would people recommend?

Sit on it and do nothing apparently

There are many solid companies that have dropped 20% to 30% on the last month on nothing to do with them.

It's a simple trade off the back of Trumps insanity.

Anyone who thinks that is getting money to do nothing is a fool.

Not investment advice but ALK for example was marching towards 500p before this war and has dropped to 328p. I know if rather have some powder dry to take advantage of that.

I'm going to be honest, the current discussion sounds a bit like folks on Polymarket chatting about making money off a bet regarding when the next smart bomb is going to go off.

I get that it's not something anyone here has any control over, but considering what is actually happening to change the market prices right now, its interesting to see how many people appear comfortable with making a buck from it.

Edit: though I guess what's happening now isn't exactly different to what's happened a fair few times during recent history, is it.

More seriously though it's going to have an impact on people's pension investments, especially if it continues and the long term effects become more accentuated. First world problems I know.
