If we win both games we qualify for the Champions League.
If we win one and draw one we qualify for the Champions League - as long as United don’t win beat West Ham by 4 more goals than we beat Spurs.

If we lose to Spurs but beat United we are in, providing United don’t manage to turn around a 5 goal margin in this time.
If we beat Spurs but lose to United we would need either Man Utd to lose against West Ham or Chelsea to gain no more than 2 points against Liverpool and Wolves.

If we draw both games we need United to drop points against West Ham or Chelsea to gain no more than one point in their two games.

If we lose to Spurs but draw with United, we would need either United to drop points against West Ham or Chelsea to lose both games.

If we draw with Spurs but lose against United we would need Chelsea to lose both of their remaining games.

If we lose both, we enjoy competing in the Europa League and one day look back on this as a great season.

I need the season to end, simply to put a stop to new non sequitur threads popping up :)

Sorry I was just trying to condense all the information into one place. I suppose this is my way of dealing with the end of the season nerves.

Integrity? It would also have to be clever so it doesn't look obvious.

A very possible scenario,

Does not happen too often in a country with "integrity" but with the massive sums of money involved a walk in the park for us & Man Utd is a real possibility.

Nah I'm joshing - it's useful info but given I can do nothing about it, I'm not going to think about it.

Personally I say go all out beat them too. Why help another team and just why. we win who cares what happens to man u or Chelsea

Even with just two games to go, there are so many permutations.

For me, most permutations end with the Utd game being a CL playoff.  We simply have to win that game.

Their FA Cup fixture means we play in advance of both Chelsea and Utd. A win would put us, at least temporarily, in third and heap pressure on them. A draw would still see us back in third. Easy to look at the Utd game as the playoff for it, as a win there guarantees CL, but the Spurs game gives us a chance to really pile the pressure on.

Reading this makes my head hurt but thanks for working it out and posting it.

It's good to think that worse case scenario, we lose both games and get tonked 5-0, we still finish 5th and qualify for Europa. Even then Wolves would have to win both their games 5-0 to catch and overtake us! So we are finishing 5th minimum. Its already a great season, there is NOTHING to lose and ALL to gain. Lets do this!

The elephant in the room being VAR.

I don't see us finishing above Utd for that very reason.  We will be screwed over by VAR in a scenario where Utd can profit from us.

The most likely outcome is drawing with Spurs and hoping Chelsea lose both of their remaining games which, in my opinion, is the most likely and least VAR affected way of getting there.
