I wholeheartedly support the application.

I'd like to actually see at least two Mosque's built in Evington or the surrounding areas. Whilst Christians in the Evington area have an array of churches to attend, there simply isn't enough accessibility or choice for Muslims in the community that's representative or proportionate to the increasing needs of this growing demographic.

Do your maths. There are over 80 in Leicester of which 20 plus are in and around Evington. That is surely enough to meet demands?

Hi Forum members,

I take it everyone is safe and well.

A planning application had been logged for yet another Mosque in the Evington Area (village) and in a place that is already congested and really cannot cope with any more places of worship.

I appreciate this is group is indirectly related to our beloved foxes 🙂 Any valid objections would be welcome as this is a numbers game!

Please can you help out and send your objections to the planning online for this mosque 🕌. They always send the application under D1 use for education and training but eventually becomes a mosque.

Go on the link and see the tab “Comment on this Application “ on left hand side top.

Where are your facts for that ? I don’t understand why people don’t just talk with each other. That’s what I would do if my neighbour proposed a planning app for an extension - it seems so simple. Unfortunately it’s the fools on both sides who get involved and mess up relations.

I too am absolutely behind this proposed redevelopment.

The eastern end should be extended by a third raising the capacity by almost a third, together with an exhibition hall/arena, with a fanzone for visiting pilgrims, a rail link, hotel and a park n ride initiative.

The planning application was rejected so great news for the area.

I heard a rumor that plans are also being drawn up for the dissused Haymarket Theatre and Belgrave Library as potential sites.

I feel all religious denominations should share their facilities. Mosques are busy on Fridays, churches on Sunday etc.

It would be a more effective and efficient use of resources, especially buildings.

Surely this would help bring communities closer too?

As I have mentioned in other threads; use these/any brown field sites for housing/flats.
