What a guy. Not only did he score so many big goals, he worked his ass off doing so much dirty work whenever we needed to hang on to a lead. I always thought that he could have played as an emergency defender if needed.

I remember when Ulloa signed, I wasn't too impressed. Simply because he had been a bit under the radar at Brighton, and certainly didn't have the reputation that some of the other forwards in the Championship that season had (Ings and Vokes at Burnley, McCormack at Leeds, Deeney at Watford, Grabban at Bournemouth and even McGoldrick at Ipswich).

One of the reasons Pearson gave for the signing was, however, that after we played Brighton the defenders told Pearson that out of all the strikers/forwards they had faced that season in the Championship, Ulloa was the one that had given them the most problems.

Once he started scoring for us in that first season back in the Prem, I finally saw what the fuss was about!

Very, very good player. Hugely underrated by some. Without him we would've gone straight back in that first season after our promotion.

Don't think I've ever seen or ever likely to see again a player score a goal under the pressure he faced when scoring that penalty against West Ham. Literally carried the weight of 30,024 nervous people on his shoulders. That'd break many a man but the composure shown was on another level. Great signing and will always be a big part of the LCFC family.

You might've been more impressed if you'd seen him rip us apart in that infamous end of season pissed up performance against Brighton in 2014.

I guess that game was, at least partly, the reason the defenders and Pearson liked him.

I must admit, I vaguely remember seeing the score and then reading on here how awful we were, but didn't see the game. Must have been a weekday night match.

Just searched for the match report and had a look.

I think whoever put together the line up graphic at the BBC for the game, must have been out with the players on a two-day bender.

The state of that....😂😂

Decent player for us, not the most mobile but a great header of the ball, could do with him back in a City shirt, we might actually score from a corner and defend them better...

Up the City...:scarf:

Who, then, will win the cup tie?

He guffaws.

“Leicester,” he says, “will win the game, 1-0.”

You and Leo got a betting ring going or something?
