Why do you need 12 more matches... we have last season to consider?

I think this will take into account the transfer window and if basically a full squad works out or not

Without a doubt but my guess is that a 14th place finish, 5 points above the drop and he'd still keep his job. I may be wrong though.

I'd sack Rodgers if we didn't qualify for Europe again to be honest. That's an unacceptable regression considering where we were a couple of years ago.

Absolutely, and that won't go down well with Youri and Timmy either. Dennis has a footballing brain, as does Youri, so maybe he has dared to question him in the past. To be honest I hope all of the players will be questioning him........

Rodgers does seem to be not treating players equally, I noticed this last season but now this season with 5 subs allowed and a game where he as openly admitted we were fatigued, to me clearly demonstrates this.

One thing that has been playing on my mind is his insistence in the post match interview that we were outstanding for the first 60 minutes. We played well and we were in control, but Brentford were also very happy to let us have the ball and try our luck from distance. It's very easy to pass the ball and maintain possession against a team that's happy to sit off, we very rarely caused too many issues from open play barring a couple of long range efforts and the Maddison diving header. Arsenal won't show us any respect while we try and play the ball around the back next week and we could pay dearly. Be ready for something along the lines of, I'm proud of the players they worked hard and tried to implement our gameplan against a very good team, we can be happy with our efforts.

We dropped pretty much as soon as scored the second goal, I think this 60-65 mins is coming from when they scored.  But I could see the goal coming earlier.  It wasnt just the substitution but the entire team had stopped pressing up the pitch.

In the first half we were in their faces, and were winning the ball back quickly.  In the second half it was just sitting back inviting them to come at us.

Who do the Rodgers out brigade actually want?

I don't see who we could attract. There's no stand out manager without a club right now so any new manager would have to already be in a job.

We do a reset and get someone who can do the basics right.  Forget about challenging top 6 until those basics are drilled back into the ethos of the squad, and then would look to progress after that point again.

West Ham are prepared to sell both Saïd Benrahma and Nikola Vlasić in the next days.

Bugger I was convinced only we made mistakes in  the transfer market.

Ahh good old one worded responses, typical when you dont have a proper reply.

Whats clueless about getting the basics right? Currently we have a manager who cant even read a game time and time again.

For all the shite that occurred yesterday, and understandable frustrations, I'd love if he masterminded a win against Arsenal lol

So would I as I'd love the 3 points..

But sadly I fear it won't happen, and most possibly we will be treated to yet another load of weird and wacky subs (or sub) and pointless possesion at all cost football. (TBH, I can just about understand that as Arsenal are not Brentford and will pose a bigger threat going forward) It pains me to say it but I fear we will revert back to Brendan's trusted tactics of a sideways and back to the Keeper passing fest, to try and keep the posession. (which is fine it you actually us it and not contain it to the area in front of the 18yd box) How about we try something we have shownnwe are better at and adopt the attack is the best form if defence stance

It's times like this when I look back at this moment...

image.thumb.png.a5c6c2183c09a3a8ddaa5df44a69edf4.png

...and wonder what might have been.

Sliding doors. There was a door there wide open with a big Welcome sign flashing above it and we somehow managed to walk into the wall. How different life could have been if we had hung on. Would Fofana be so eager to leave? Would Youri want to go? Would we have signed Gosens like the rumours suggested? Would it have turned the perception of the Big 6 into the Big 7?

Absolutely no point in looking back in anger now, but I can't help it. Ever since that Spurs match I think I've thought about it and winced at least once a week during the football season.

The day, when little Wes got injured and he moved Wilf to centre half ,when we had 2 centre half's on the bench.

We totally lost the midfield and Spurs just run through us.

Masterclass 😒

I suggest you look at the subs bench yesterday. a mixture of players who have variously been snubbed or at the very least have gone under appreciated by our manager. In truth, thats why he cant use them. Praet welcomed with open arms - a few months later not a Br type of player. Mendy, one minute behind hamza in the pecking order, the next minute ahead of him {without actually playing for us!} Soyuncu - thrown under a bus for a tackle v Spurs, Perez - not sure what he did, but he was signed under Brendan, like Praet. And of course Kelechi, the prolific scorer and assister who has no place in the purist footballing style  of a BR team….

Now you can agree with Brendan and say none are good enough - but you have to accept that some arrived here while BR was manager {and to those you could add Soumare and  Vestergaard}, others have been given attractive contracts which makes them difficult to shift.

id say of the nine on the bench only Daka, Albrighton and possibly Thomas have the full confidence of the manager.

We will not get relegated.

If look in remote trouble, he will get sacked.

Ranieri had lost 5 in a row and had won 1 in 10.

BR has never lost more then 2 league game in a row

Yes, well records are always there to be broken.

Player 5, won 4, draw 1, lost 0

An old saying but still a truism. you are only as good as your last game. And Frank had Rodgers pants dowm big time.

The question is is does that FA cup win happen without Iheanacho? I dont think so but Brendan benched him as soon as he could when the league started the next season and even denied him adequate minutes in the Europa league.

I dont feel comfortable giving a manager the majority of credit for a cup when he benches one of the top 2 players in that run at every opportunity. It seems to me that Barnes and Maddison's injuries forcing Rodger's hand factored in just as much as any managerial competency.

There's also another saying, your 1st game doesn't define your season
