I'm not sure it's about respect, more a chance for especially the younger children to show a bit of love and appreciation that maybe they wouldn't normally think to do isn't it?

Three step-kids got me beer, rum and an old school sweet selection box.

 

The Mrs is doing me steak for dinner.

 

The card wasn't as good as last years, which said "Happy Fathers day from the kids you got stuck with when you met our mum"

We had a late night at a wedding last night.  My eldest daughter was at work today, and my youngest was volunteering at an open gardens event, so I have hardly seen them.

We decided last week that we will celebrate Fathers Day next Sunday when we can all be together as a family.

Hoping to get my card and pressies then too!
