I had mine ready but wasn't asked for it, despite arriving early when there was no queue whatsoever. Was asked on Saturday, but doc wasn't checked properly.

Last night, there were 2 blokes on Covid check duty just standing there. I looked from one to the other as I walked through, but they said nothing and just let me walk straight in (and I don't think that I look particularly intimidating :D).

I've no problem with Covid checks, but it seems to be operating as a pointless, ineffective gesture at the moment....they theoretically ask for documents that don't prove anything, stop some people thereby causing delay and annoyance, cast a cursory glance at the docs of people who may or may not be the people named and let a lot of people in with no checks who may have no docs and may have Covid!

Given the mayhem that would be caused if they tried to check everyone properly, the only sane solution is surely spot checks but done properly - pick a random minority, check docs and cross-check to the names on season tickets, purchase records or other ID. That way, most people wouldn't take the risk of turning up with no docs or anyone else's docs. Otherwise, the club might as well do without checks and just recommend that people get vaccinated and/or tested and stay away if they've had symptoms or been with anyone infected.

I briefly flashed my phone screen at the guy who ticked it on his list. The reality is I could be showing him a screenshot of the vaccination record of anyone.

I get the whole thing relies on people being honest and sensible, but unfortunately that is not to be expected in this day and age.

It was all over the radio and socials yesterday afternoon that supporters were asked to arrive early for spot checks at the turnstiles. Seems like they must have given up 20 minutes before KO.

I don't twitter.

The club have our emails -and they know who had purchased the tickets - I never know why they can email season ticket holders eg: with renewal info etc

Is that a typo? If so I receive emails from the club with information about upcoming games

I would be surprised if the COVID check staff feel empowered enough to turn people away.

I might be wrong on this, but in the NHS app don’t you have to self declare if you have tested positive? Is the app linked to a medical record the NHS have? I can’t see on mine that it can be. So strikes me as kind of pointless as well.

yes it was a typo - I don't get anything even telling me to renew or to buy cup tickets etc.

Lateral flow tests done at home are self declared which to me are pointless to be used for events, PCR tests are linked to the COVID pass

to find previous test results, go to the nhs app and go to the section where your pass is, where the QR code is, at the bottom of the screen it will say “view COVID-19 records”

Only thing I can suggest is You might want to double check that you have contact info switched on on the Lcfc website as emails are definitely being sent out by the club

They are an absolute waste of time at club. They asked me if I had covid paperwork I went to show him my proof of vaccine and be continued talking to his mate. Never bothered to even look at it

I thought the definition of spot check was to check one in every few, but our club seems to have interpreted that as check everyone until huge queues build up and then just sack it off.

They're checking for acne only
