COVID Checks

They abandoned them around 20 minutes before kick off in the east stand due to the fact they clearly weren’t going to get everyone in for kick off
 

Was this the same everywhere?

 

They’ll have to get a load more staff in if this is going to be a thing long term

Waste of time. Thought they were spot checks. Checking everyone in the kop when I went in. Just told him I didn't have it and he waved me in. Gonna be carnage getting in the ground  if this is bought in properly.

I wonder if that happened a lot? I had mine and the guy seemed almost too happy to see it.

Just don't understand the point of it. People showing letters to stewards to get in the football. The letter could belong to anyone.

They certainly weren't checking names. If they wanted it to be effective, more thorough but fewer spot checks would be in order.

Tried to get my COVID passport up, but didn’t have connection for the NHS app. Need to screenshot before leaving next time! Lad checking didn’t give a monkeys.

They won’t be bothered about it being effective, just need to be seen to be doing the “ right thing “

Went to a gig last night, was emailed on Thursday stating strict covid rules, double jabbed or a lateral flow result within the last 48 hours.

 

Girl in front of us had nothing at the checkpoint, just let her in anyway.

 

Pretty ridiculous really.

 

Why make a thing out of it if it's just going to be ignored?

 

Same at Wembley a few weeks ago.

 

It's all about trust, but there are some very untrustworthy people about.

It’s only suppose to be spot checks. I got checked but as far as I was aware I wasn’t holding up a queue, just pulled me one side. This was after 2.30. If you go prepared with your screen ready to show, then it shouldn’t hold things up. We had enough notice to know this was happening. People thinking they’re great just saying they don’t have it and walking in may have a different experience next time. Think people need to realise that as previously mentioned this is gunna take a lot of individual responsibility. This isn’t a club decision, it’s happening everywhere.

I think there was a fair few cases after some of the England games at Wembley in the euros

I was about third to get in my gate, was checked fine.

They’re rising because of everything - not just football.

 

Schools, concerts, clubs, no masks required in supermarkets etc.

They can’t refuse you admission at the moment but the whole thing was a farce. 
 

I don’t mind doing it but they need some way to speed it up. 
 

The queue moved pretty quickly today. For the amount of attention they paid though I could have flashed a screenshot of anyone’s passport today and they wouldn’t have had a clue. Didn’t check my name matched my season ticket or anything. Just put a little cross in the column on his clipboard. 

 

If they start to do this properly and actually check name’s match  there’s going to be horrendous delays.

We got spot  checkd going into L1 at about 2.30.

Mate of mine said the queues were horrendous near the turnstiles in the main stand about 15 minutes to KO?

Wonder if the club are gonna offer refunds to people who haven't had the jab.. Gonna be harsh if you can't use your ticket because of this passport nonsense. I suppose they would just use someone else's pass

unorganised chaos. i couldn't get a signal for the nhs app, spoke to a steward, half way through the conversation it came through her ear piece to no longer bother checking people, which meant it was all a waste of time anyway. I got the impression that the stewards had took the message about spot checks the wrong way and were checking everyone which gave that showsec bunch any even bigger excuse to act like nightclub bouncers.

Said in the pre match thread that at the west stand they checked the phone for barely a split second and let you go through. I had my qr code as a screenshot on it but let's face it, it could have been a screenshot of any qr code, not of my covid pass.
