The Leicester mould, didn't take us that next step further...

I prefer Irishman's success...

Though I do believe the dog-figher

began the kick-off.

So legend has it!!

OK so many peoples expectations were a cup run to semi final ✔ and top 6 ✖ this season but things didn't quite pan out the way we hoped.

On the eve of the final game of the season I'm imagining that most people are hoping for the same next season but are probably also conscious that we are in a fight for the top 6 with not only the big 6 but also Wolves, West Ham, Newcastle and possibly a rejuvenated Villa.....considering 10 doesn't go into 6 I think that next season success in the league is top 7.....thoughts?

If we help Southampton again to clear out their dead wood, I can see them challenging top half finish.

Qualify for Europe via the league would be success in my view, so 7th and about.

We should also be looking to get to at least Qtr-finals in both Cups as well.

Notice convinced Villa are rejuvenated and I think Wolves will struggle next season without investment.

West Ham and Newcastle will be pushing.

I just don't see them investing enough, and wouldn't be surprised if they lost Ward-Prowse this summer.

The have won 1 and drew 1 in the last 11 games, more likely they will be fighting at the bottom.

Our aim, and tempered expectation is to be the best of the rest. Consistently the 7th best side, will likely get Europe more often than not and even sneak Into champions league on occasion, due to The odd bad season elsewhere, notably the 🤑6.

And having a real go in all cup competitions. It would be great to be european ever presents but realistically we will have our own bad seasons and end up without. This in turn will allow us to have less games and give the league a better go next time.round.

I expect us to really challenge and qualify for Europe next season by whatever route that may end up being.

Even in our poor season,  we got to our first ever European semi final and look like finishing as 8th best.

West Ham rightfully look to be our biggest challengers to this spot, but there is room for both of us to land Europe with the almost inevitable drop off of at least one of the 🤑6 as they all panic because they are not top of the tree!.

We were also expecting far more from others, but imo they will come and go. We need to aim to be the best of the rest. Likely us and west ham will yoyo between each other as one has a better season with no Europe to contend with.

I believe this optimism for our European qualification will also hold true when Newcastle inevitably take their place at the top table, but do not expect them to do anything more than challenge us and west ham for best of the rest status next season, and even if they move quickly, best of the rest should have at least 7th spot to aim for, with at least one of the 🤑6 having an off year. And that excites me as we can realistically win that competition imo.

I understand the concern that no Europe could leave is vulnerable to losing our best players, but I don't feel overly worried this year and expect only tielemans to go out of the ones we "want to keep hold of" (I personally don't want to)

Only time will tell. Glad this season is nearly over, dreading diy season and already got the list from hell, but ready to get excited for next season.

Transfers, rumours, maybe upgrade on kasper with an eye on the future. That elusive right winger. Lookman signing and having 2 good options on left wing.

Daka coming through after a year to get used to it, or learning more from Vardy next season ready for the season after.

Maybe even letting kelechi go and getting someone in that Brendan will actually trust to play?

Roll on tomorrow.

Roll on the summer.

Roll on next season.

No less than 8th is a failure :)

I'd agree with that. We look like just scraping it this year which means we can celebrate/at least enjoy the fact we made European semi and what could have been.
