Yep. The tide comes in...but then it goes out again.

What happens if BR jumps ship to Newcastle, and then comes in January to sign up Tielemans, Castagne and Barnes?

Why would we sell three key players in a single transfer window to an inferior club, when we're reluctant to sell one key player a year to a superior club? It doesn't matter how much money Newcastle have, they are still a number of years away from being able to go shopping in Leicester. And even if it ever gets to a point that they do, we would rip them off for any player they try to sign just because we can. Not worried about Newcastle at all, they're just a pig with makeup on. Not won a notable trophy since TVs were black and white.

I think worrying about outcomes at the end of the season will just stress us all out including the players. We need to focus on the next couple of matches and take it from there.

Based on current performances, around 8th and hopefully a good cup run.

If we manage to sort out form out sooner rather than later, challenging for 5th place and going deep in 2 out of the 3 cups.

I know I speak on behalf of a large majority of the fan base when I say if my team lose....I lose with them....its what makes it all the more special and meaningful when they win....You can't experience the ultra highs of winning if you don't take to heart the losing....losing hurts me and makes me angry.

Not saying i'm not disappointed if we lose but just that i don't let it control me & ruin a w/end.

We're only 4 points outside the Top 4 as the table stands - 6 points if Everton win today.

Perhaps more importantly, do Man Utd. look a shoo-in for a Top 4 place? I'd say not.

At the start of the season, my view was that Top 7 might be easier to achieve than in recent seasons, but that Top 4 would be harder - and probably beyond us, even without our poor start.

Man City would still be strong, Liverpool would be refreshed with Van Dijk back, Chelsea had already improved second half of last season & had bought Lukaku - and Man Utd had added Ronaldo to other quality players.

I still think Man City, Liverpool & Chelsea will have 3 of the 4 slots sewn up. But, after yesterday (granted, only 1 match), I wonder if the signing of Ronaldo might have weakened Man Utd. He's been a superstar but is no longer the same player at all.

I'm sure he'll score goals against poorer defences, but his immobility limits their attacking options against better teams (as we were yesterday). I couldn't believe how little movement and involvement he offered them yesterday. Plus Fernandes won't necessarily be as outstanding as he's been for the last 1-2 seasons, Pogba could continue to under-perform.... Maybe they'll perk up again, get rid of Solskjaer or drop or adapt to Ronaldo's presence. But I'm not sure how easy they'll find that, particularly the Ronaldo issue.

In short, the 4th slot might be up for grabs. Of course, that doesn't mean that we'd get it, unless we achieve yesterday's standard in a lot more matches, avoid too many major injuries etc. But Man Utd look more vulnerable than I'd expected - perhaps partly because of the Ronaldo signing. If they do under-perform, there are other clubs that could profit from that: West Ham, Everton, Villa, Spurs (?), Brighton (??). But, for different reasons, none of them look inevitably better than us - if we play to our potential over the whole of a season.

At the start of the season, I was among those who saw a Top 4 finish as potentially harder than winning the EL. I'm no longer so sure about that....

Simple one for me. Just to see us playing well again would be a start. We haven’t played well pretty much all 2021 not just since the start of this season

I have no expectations of making Europe again this season and I DO expect we’ll finish mid table. We just concede too many goals

Yesterday will do for a start

I don't think I posted in this thread, but right now, I'd be thrilled with 12th. Then we can reassess and go again next season with some new players and perhaps a new manager.

Anyone going to edit their post?  :S

I know its reactionary after losing against the best team in the league right now but my expectations are currently nil. Not expecting much from the cups or europe. We wont be anywhere near the relegation places but we'll be somewhere in mid table.

Current Expectations for every game

To concede a goal (or be very lucky not to concede) within the 1st 5 minutes

To concede from the every set-piece we have to defend

To watch as the majority of Leicester players don't even get out of 1st gear as they are get outplayed

And then we will have a good 10/15 minutes after it's already too late

Before finally ending the game in a slump looking completed demotivated

At last we have a winner!
