Rodgers has made it clear what his expectations are.....seemingly the last 2 seasons were the exception.....not the rule...make of that what you will

Can’t see us finishing any higher than 9th after today’s result, we’re 13pts off Wolves now and that’s an insurmountable number of points, Spurs (currently in 8th) I think will improve and pick up more points which leaves us in competition with the likes of Brighton, Southampton, Villa & Palace for 9th. How uninspiring is that!??

I’m still amazed that some fans seem to be taking the Europa Conference League as some kind of gimmie that we’re going to go deep in. We have an incredibly fragile mentality when under any form of pressure so why people think we’ll get beyond even the next round after Randers really boils down to complacency. The likes of Roma, Copenhagen, Basel, Feyenoord could quite easily turn us over in the next round!!!

At the start of the campaign, after seeing some rather worrying signs in preseason (but was told it’s only preseason 🙄) I was expecting bottom half after 4-5 months and Rodgers getting the sack. We are now 6 months in, and he’s still here, but what was coming this season I saw a mile off. Two years on the trot of throwing away top 4 I knew it would take its toll. Some silly people keep saying we had two top 5 finishes like it was good thing after the position we were in both times… it wasn’t good, not only in terms of revenue but the mental toll it would’ve taken … especially happening twice.

Anyway my expectations from start of season haven’t changed, I expect us to sack Rodgers soon, while we languish in the bottom half. Depending on what direction they take next, we have a huge summer ahead of us and I think if we get it right (easier said than done) we can get top 6 in 2023.

Just want to get to 40 points ASAP.

Where are we getting those points? Right now it looks impossible- especially with our ability of throwing away wins in the last 10 mins recently

JV back in 7-10 days. He not only scores but keeps the opposition further back and fewer of them roaming forward.

Even when 6 or 7 had good games we managed to lose   and  the bottom teams apart from  Everton have all improved

The Rodgers scenario can go either way between now and May, at least as I see it. I think he'll be allowed to see it out to the end of the season but thereafter it really does depend on how we finish this season first and foremost (obviously not by being relegated!)....and the style in which we do so - as to whether he and his backroom staff will still be retained here in time for next season or not!

I will say though that if it had been "the previous" in charge (Puel) and he hadn't been sacked when he was three years ago and instead went onto mastermind what Rodgers has instead re the two 5th place finishes and a first ever FA Cup triumph, then he'd probably have been sacked more recently after the recent Brighton game at home possibly for not winning it (going by the nature of his "knives out" sacking three years ago) - if not before that - but I suppose Top seemingly still values Rodgers more than he ever did Puel for the past two seasons alone and so must be evaluating the best parts of the past two seasons and chooses to do that (silverware in the cabinet and two fifth places instead of thinking two top 4 place finishes blown at the death in consecutive seasons), all while rather glossing over this abysmal one to date - which can surely only start to get better now! - or can it?! I still wonder if the late Vichai had still been here and incharge instead of Top then would Rodgers still be here?!

Would rather finish 8th or 9th than 7th to avoid Conference League

How about the conference league cup? Lol

I'll take 14th rebuild next year, we're so unbalanced, we've signed so much deadwood this year on top of the deadwood we already had

Sounds about right.

Simple one for me. Just to see us playing well again would be a start. We haven’t played well pretty much all 2021 not just since the start of this season

I have no expectations of making Europe again this season and I DO expect we’ll finish mid table. We just concede too many goals

No change here then…

Lots of what ifs in there, that are hard to answer.

Your last point on Vichai… I think he had more patience than Top.
I remember the news breaking that Nigel Pearson had been sacked halfway through the season we performed the great escape, but then a big u-turn happened… well apparently that was Vichai… overruling the board and Top’s influence… how true it was / is I don’t know, but I don’t think we’d be in a different position.

Give Europe a proper go, with players coming back and us starting to perform a bit better, the curve is going the right way. Forget the league, we'll grab another 4 wins without thinking about it and I don't care if we finish 14th or 9th. But let's get far in Europe, we have the squad to challenge all remaining teams, even if it is a tricky task.

Yes, indeed! I suppose Top comes/came across as the younger and perhaps more ambitious one while Vichai was still with us - and with it less patient than his late father perhaps! I think there was a lot of pressure during the Great Escape season to oust Pearson (from the fans especially), when things had seriously gone into reverse following the 5-3 v Man United early on in the season of course - until the unforgettable turn around after the West Ham game at the start of April when we still only had 19 points before it of course! Well overruled Vichai if so!

Strange regarding Pearson and the fans discontent... I have always been fully behind him, yet Rodgers who has delivered highest finishes and an FA Cup, I just cannot come to like him or the style he insists upon... Sometimes, you just don't like someone no matter what they do lol

I don't have any expectations but I do hope for good things. Expecting something when you've had no input is pretty weird.

I expect my kids to do well in the world because I've had plenty of input. I hope  your children do well because I've had no input.

European qualification in the years we don’t have European football.

when we do have European football I want to see us have a real go in it.

In general I just want us to be fearless again.

Honestly stopping up. I genuinely don’t see where the next league win is coming from. I’m checking the results of the bottom 3 and hoping they keep losing. Problem is our next league game is against Burnley and how horrific we are from corners/set pieces is worrying. There’s always 1 side that gets dragged into a relegation battle and our record of 3 wins out of 14 is relegation form.

The owners expectations upon Promotion was Top 5 within 3 years, that's where they expect us to be, it's happened quickly but realistically I expect us to be between 5th-8th, the bare minimum should now be top 10, and that looks like it may not happen this season. The club has never managed 5 consecutive top 10 finishes in our history, 4 on 3 occasions this being one of them.
