Birch had a cardiac arrest a couple of years ago at the ground. Our guys resuscitated him and he recovered. Since then he's suffered chest pains whilst at the ground and has been taken to hospital before. This seems like a similar incident. Precaution benefits prevarication.

shouldn't really post these "I hear" threads about something so serious. Not fair on his friends and family. Let's wait for something more credible if it's true.

There is always speculation on these boards, it just comes natural to some folk.

Sounds like the only cure would be to stay away from The ground..

but the depression that will bring would probably kill him too..

Might as well die happy! And good for Him

too.

Yeah, I had cardiac issues about a decade ago (not a heart attack, but heart failure -- didn't know until then you could survive something called "heart failure") -- For two years, any kind of chest pain and I was sent to the hospital as a precaution; it was always just gas (well, not that first time -- that was heart failure, but the other times, just built up farts.)

I spoke to Birch this morning on the phone just to see how he is. He came out of the heart unit at Glenfield on Sunday and is now recovering at home. He was most  concerned with the fact that he missed the last 2 goals!

Does he still go in The Woodman's Stroke in Rothley?

Always known him as "The Birch", since he arrived in the 70s, courtiousy of Jimmy Bloomfield. He was a great header of the ball which was far heavier in those halycon days, and appears to be a cause of dementia. Great to see he appears clear of that, and is safe and sound at home, following his feeling unwell. Leicester without him, woul be like fish without chips.

What a great guy he is, bless him.  :worship:

oh how  she came out  between the trees, sun rays shining through her Golden hair, a meloncholy mysterious glaze to her eyes,

But always a Beautiful Smile adourning her Beautiful radiant face.....
