Doesn't explain why we've rejected bids for Praet, Soumare, Castagne and Vestergaard then....

For mental health reasons I've deleted all social media platforms in the last few weeks and stopped watching any form of news so be honest with you I didn't even know we had turned any bids down.

But on the other side of the coin would a club with massive finacial troubles turn those bids down?

Exactly. For a club apparently in financial dire straits and in desperate need to sell players, we seem remarkably reluctant to let some of our deadwood go if we don't think the offers are good enough.

Not sure its a smart move though. If you want rid and also save a few quid on wages then just get rid because the price of our deadwood isn't going to go up, its only ever going to go down.

Think its more not letting other clubs take the piss out of us like Besiktas did with Ghezzal. I mean that €7 million Torino bid for a Belgium international midfielder in Dennis Praet was an absolute disgrace

Kasper leaving doesn't bother me too much because I think he was part of the problem they've had defending corners. If he wanted out and they get his wage off the books, so be it. Ward deserves a chance and if the position is a problem they can always find at least a short term fix during the next window.  Where we'll know there's a financial problem is if they end up selling one of Fofana, Madders, Barnes or Castagne. I think if one of them were to go - especially Fofana or Madders then Rodgers will be putting out feelers for his next job and he'll probably be gone as well by the World Cup.

We’ve not remortgaged the stadium or training ground yet, so we’re not exactly in that much trouble.

I hope this has helped and you are feeling better mate

Our current situation maybe owes as much to FFP rules than our own bank balance etc. We're just maybe constrained a little (not restricted). Like moving furniture around; sometimes you could do with getting that big old wardrobe out of the way first before you do anything else. Doesn't mean you haven't got the money to get new furniture, it's just that you just need to make the space for it first. And to continue the metaphor, you don't sell that lovely new bookcase just because there's interest in it. You still want that.

Agree with this - I think we are in a micro Barcelona type situation.

The old wages vs turnover thing is the reason we're not signing anyone. We've used the pulling power of the Premier League to attract players on high wages and given substantial pay rises to those who have grown in stature in tandem with the club. As a result, several players who aren't good enough are on too much money but still have contracts to run down, making them difficult to sell.

Also, we're only in our second season after replacing King Power as our shirt sponsor, who didn't provide much money at all (for that shirt sponsorship deal) and we still have them as the stadium sponsor. If we're going to be self sustainable, we need more money coming in.

We need to trade more on our reputation as a club that punches above its weight. The training ground, stadium expansion, FA Cup and PL title wins and recent European football are proof of that. I believe the FBS shirt sponsorship is decent but surely Top and Whelan are capable of attracting some more lucrative sponsorships of the stadium, pre-match shirts, etc.

If we are in so much financial dogdoo, how come "we" are able to own two clubs and run three separate teams?

I think its a combination of KP likely going through a rough time (the last couple of years announced tourist figures for Thailand are extremely bad), and FFP issues.  Notice we not pushing hard on the stadium, and the women's team arent splashing the cash and I would be surprised if they are anywhere near FFP.

Our level of debt is high for a club our size as well even if a lot is only short term debt.

I dont think we at a crisis point though, we not about to start stripping assets or anything, I think its just a reducing budget phase.

No an issue as the majority is with KP who will not call the loan in.

The only other debt we secure on PL income so unless we get relegated we should be fine.

Only the only attraction we have is to come train at Seagrave and get injured on regular basis.
