Thought we were full steam ahead into Spring now but I've left the house wearing 1 of my finest springtime Cardigans and its freezing

Too right. Dunno why Brits have this whole thing about not putting on heating during certain months. Bloody freezing today.

Mrs P objected purely on the basis that it's June. I said so, if it was 16deg in  February you'd want the heating on? If it's cold, it's cold.

Surely everyone just keeps the heating on a thermostat and if it's cold it kicks in like mine has a few times this week. 

 

This has to be one of the worst June's I can remember so far.

But 16 degrees in Feb wouldn't feel cold, you'd be feeling quite summery, especially if it had been in mid single figures the day before.

 

How we feel about temperature is all relative.

It hadn't occurred to me that it was cold enough for the heating thermostat to kick in, it has and I'm not even there. As it's June I didn't think to put holiday mode on. Thanks to you resurrecting this thread, holiday mode is on. Cheers.
