them going into admin would help us next season if we go up

its a win, win

a) we claim £75m and agree a compromise where they pay us £40m

b) they cant pay  us and go into admin - 12 point deduction gives us a decent chance of finishing above them next season

Our administration is constantly brought up as an argument against us by people who have no idea what they were talking about. We didn't break any rules, and it was caused by a concoction of about 4 events:

 

1. Walkers Stadium build at £32m.

2. Relegation.

3. ITV Digital collapse.

4. Dennis Wise suing us for compensation.

 

ITV Digital's collapse pulled the rug of funding for the entire Football League structure overnight, and is directly linked to the administration of at least 14 clubs in the 2 years after.

 

Dennis Wise and his agent Eric Hall sued us after we sacked him for assaulting a teammate in his sleep and breaking his jaw. 

 

Those are two unique circumstances that were beyond our control.

 

Our new stadium was also a unique factor that is particularly grating when you consider it only cost £32m to build, and clubs such as Man City and West Ham have had their stadiums (built at multiple the cost of ours) have had stadiums given to them for basically nothing by the taxpayer.

 

We didn't break any rules.

 

There were no points deductions at the time either.

 

Even if we'd got a 10 points deduction that season, we would still have finished in the automatic promotion places.

 

Our administration did not affect any other club; in fact, 13 other clubs suffered administration thanks to the same thing that caused ours.

Meanwhile.

 

Everton ****ing cheated.

 

Over multiple seasons.

 

They knowingly broke the rules, ignoring warnings from the Premier League that they were doing so.

 

In breaking the rules they not only cheated every other club that stuck to the rules, they directly harmed the clubs around them in the table who put themselves in danger by not breaking the rules.

 

That points deduction should have been awarded last season when it would have actually punished them.

 

This isn't just Everton by the way.

 

The Premier League's failure to deal with Man City for 15 years directly prevented us from qualifying for the Champions League TWO SEASONS IN A ROW, causing a financial shortfall of 80% over those seasons, which put us in the position to be cheated by Everton.

 

We've lost out on hundreds of millions from participation in the CL, sponsorships, ticket sales and forced squad fire sales including devalued assets.

 

We need to get back what we're owed.

Rumour they are going to change how youth players are valued in club account when selling.

 

Similar to 8 year contract, its been seen as a loop hole around FFP for the likes of Man City, hoovering up talent to sell later as pure profit to balance the books.

Just do away with letting clubs amortise costs and it's not a problem.

 

If you buy a player for £30m then 30 goes on the books in the negative column.

If you then sell that player for £25m then £25 goes on the book in the plus column

It's ****ing tragic that we have a system that actively rewards clubs for selling home grown players and long serving club icons with no book value.

Especially as the 'S' in PSR stands for 'sustainability'.

 

Surely there's nothing more sustainable than bringing through academy players to play in the first team.
