I'd be amazed if this went anywhere but if we did go down then I hope are successful in this.

Everton have taken the Micky out of FFP and have probably stayed up the last 2 seasons through its abuse whereas we didn't strengthen the squad or possibly renew contracts which is at least partially to blame for our current malaise.

Has this ever, ever, ever, EVER worked?

Every few years a relegated club seems to sue over something. Do they ever actually to anywhere?

Sheff Utd got 20 million compo over the Tevez/Mascherano business.

I still think the correct way to go here is for the PL to fine Everton and distribute to the teams that have been relegated

Everton have broken the rules of the PL - not sure how we can have a legal case against them rather then the PL for not enforcing their rules

I really hope there's not a grain of truth in this. The leadership at the club is pathetic enough, pulling a stunt like this would be embarrassing and deserve thousands outside the training ground and stadium in protest

lol as if Everton wouldn't take us to every court in the land appealing this in the 0.1% chance this actually succeeded.

Would probably be 2029 before we even saw a penny if all the appeals failed.

Pathetic projection from our board. I wonder whether they'd actually take any responsibility if Everton came down with us. After all, there'd be no-one else to blame then.

Can we also make sure we pre-empt the whataboutery that'll come from A) administration in 2002-3 and B) promotion and the FFP fine in 2013-14. Not saying it's right but you know it's the first thing Everton and other fans against this will turn to.

Whether it helps us or not if FFP is to mean something Everton should be sanctioned - they've flagrantly breached for at least the past 2 seasons and it can't be with impunity. Transfer ban, points, fine are all possible sanctions. The age this will take (as Everton will appeal) means it's likely to be a while.

It is pathetic from the club, but it does make a mockery of the rules we have had to abide by and the rules that have meant we can't spend anything.

Unlike the deluded media though, I think even if Rodgers spent £60million in summer it wouldnt have been in the slightest bit a different outcome.

Right, so rather than accept we've been shit and working on our own shortcomings we're going to point the finger elsewhere and keep our head stuck in the sand? Sounds about right 👍 😂

Desperate.

Will anybody show any accountability for this mess? We get some programme notes and a press release once a season if we're lucky. Scandalous mismanagement.
