All set up for Casadei and Fatawu not to start on Friday, hopefully Akgün, Mavididi and McAteer have spent the last 2 weeks working on doing a number on Brussell Martin.

‘Not quite there’ – Leicester City star fails to impress, still waiting for ‘a reassuring impression’
By Sean Lunt -13th September 2023

Leicester City star Wout Faes still needs to impress the press in his homeland, with his performances for Belgium yet to get the seal of approval.

That’s according to Voetbal Primeur, who cover the latest comments from La Dernière Heure on the Leicester City man today.

Faes has been a regular for Belgium since Domenico Tedesco was appointed as Roberto Martinez’s replacement following the World Cup.

He’s maintained that status despite Leicester being relegated from the Premier League, and even recently spoke on the matter, revealing that Tedesco had assured him he had his faith and he’d continue to pick him.
That has been the case, but questions remains about the centre-back, who is yet to fully prove he is the man to lead the Belgian defence moving forwards.
That remains the case despite their wins in this international break, with LDH covering the player today under the headline ‘Wout pas tout à fait en phase’. That translates as ‘Wout is not quite there’.

According to them the defender made several mistakes against Azerbaijan and Estonia and ‘Faes has not left a reassuring impression’ as a result.

They’re not writing him off completely just yet but question ‘what is the level of Faes?’ and ‘does he have the level to be a leader in the national team?’

As far as they’re concerned the debate is still open on the Leicester man, who needs to do more, and show more, before he can convince Belgium he’s the one that they want.

We'll have to cope without Danny Ward :dunno:

Maybe someone else can put the cones out and collect the bibs in?

Thanks for reminding me.

I can only imagine what a rusty Danny Ward would look like playing for Wales... god help them
