Ten Foxes Called Up For International Duty
INTERNATIONALS

A host of Leicester City players are in line to take to the field for their countries this month.

- Four players could be involved in EURO qualifiers
- AFCON qualifiers are taking place in June
- The CONCACAF Gold Cup also gets underway

International action resumes following the conclusion of the 2022/23 season, with plenty of competitive fixtures involving City's players to come across the globe.

Two Foxes have been selected in Belgium’s squad for the upcoming UEFA EURO qualifiers, with defenders Timothy Castagne and Wout Faes both named in the roster.

After facing Austria in Brussels on 17 June, the Red Devils travel to Tallin for a meeting with Estonia three days later (both 7:45pm kick-offs).

Domenico Tedesco’s side are currently second in Group F heading into these latest qualifying matches having won their opening group game against Sweden 3-0.

James Maddison
The midfielder made his first senior England start against Ukraine in the last international window.

England travel across the continent to face Malta on 16 June, with James Maddison in Gareth Southgate’s squad to fly out to Southern Europe. City’s No.10 may also feature against North Macedonia at Old Trafford on 19 June (both 7:45pm kick-offs).

The Three Lions top Group C as things stand and will be looking to preserve their 100 per cent record on matchday three and four.

Also among the home nations, Danny Ward will be hoping to earn his 31st senior cap for Wales when Armenia visit Cardiff City Stadium on 16 June. Turkey are next up for the Dragons three days later, travelling to Samsun Stadium for another 7:45pm kick-off.

Rob Page’s outfit are unbeaten so far in qualifying, taking four points from two Group D matches.

Danny Ward
Ward featured for Wales at the FIFA World Cup late last year.

Elsewhere in Europe, full-back Victor Kristiansen is included in Denmark Under-21s' squad to take on Lithuania Under-21s at Jonava Stadium on 16 June (4pm kick-off).

It's set to be the Danes' first UEFA EURO U21 qualifier in Group I and is followed by a clash with Wales Under-21s back on home soil at Vejle Stadium on 20 June (5pm kick-off).

Over in Africa, Patson Daka’s Zambia face Ivory Coast in an AFCON qualifier at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on 16 June (2pm kick-off). A win would see the Copper Bullets move back to the top of Group H, two points ahead of the Ivorians, with one game to play.

AFCON qualification continues for Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho when Nigeria meet Sierra Leone on 18 June. A win in the 5pm kick-off at Samuel Kanyon Doe Sports Stadium would confirm that the Super Eagles top Group A having already collected nine points from four games.

Harry Souttar
Souttar has 15 international caps to his name.

Foxes centre-back Harry Souttar may play in a one-off international friendly for Australia against Argentina in China on 15 June (1pm kick-off). The exhibition match will take place at Workers’ Stadium in Beijing.

Development Squad midfielder Brandon Cover could make his Jamaica debut in the Reggae Boyz’ CONCACAF Gold Cup group games.

USA are first up at Soldier Field in Chicago on 25 June (2:30am kick-off), before meeting Nicaragua at the same venue on 29 June (00:30am kick-off). The top two teams in Group A will progress into the next round.

All times BST.

Personally I'm happy for madders to get another start, deserves it. Generally been fantastic for us since he signed, part of the squad that got to a European semi, won the fa cup and always spoke fondly of the Club.

Best overall stats last season for us and no worse than other seasons.. its others that dropped off. If they'd all matched their stats we wouldn't be a championship club.

I think he's one of those that looks like he's sulking etc half the time because he wants to win all the time and genuinely is disappointed when he's not at his best .. gets the flak for others letting us down I reckon.

Don't think he's as good as some of those in the fold for his position in the England squad but I hope he flourishes anyway

Just turn the clock back a few months when we were clamouring for Madders to be in the international set up.

Tonight is yet another wake up call re how low we’ve sunk as a club.

I dunno, England starter in his prime, another 10 million thank you very much

Is Maddison representing us as a Premier League or Championship player?

Just for the Leicester players who've represented us at international level from the lower tiers stats.

I think it has to count as PL, it is still the 22/23 season.

Armenia 4 goals from 4 shots on target

Ward in goal for Wales, coincidence?

The person who first saw his ability as a youngster seems to have a lot to answer for..

A very weak player.
