Zach Booth loaned to FC Volendam (Eredivisie)

Leicester City Under-21s midfielder Zach Booth has joined FC Volendam on a season-long-loan deal until the conclusion of the 2023/24 Eredivisie campaign, subject to league and international clearance.

- Development Squad midfielder Zach Booth joins FC Volendam on loan


- Youngster will spend the 2023/24 season with the Eredivisie side





The 19-year-old USA youth international, who joined the Foxes in September 2020 from MLS outfit Real Salt Lake, will continue his development in the top tier of Dutch football after impressing for Leicester City’s Under-21s.

 

Booth will now link up with his new team-mates in the Netherlands as they prepare to take on FC Twente on Sunday 3 September (1:30pm kick-off).

Shame it’s not a League 2 or 1 loan but hey ho. 

Id much rather him play vs the likes of Ajax and Feyanord over Accrington and Notts County

A shame we probably wont see someone else like Maswanhise go out on loan

Good luck to him. Not sure off the top of my head who it was against but he scored and set one up in a youth game recently and looked razor sharp.

 

One to keep an eye on.

I didn't know that was a rule. I'd have thought academy players is different.

 

Great move this is for Zach, his brother has done very well in Holland. Hopefully he has a good season and comes back here 1st team ready.

I think it depends on age and if they are club trained for an amount of time. So Booth might not fall into that category. 
 

It’s a new rule. Was 8 last season. Now 7 this, and will be 6 next year

Does thay count in the PL?

 

Chelsea have 17 out on loan according to there wiki?

Should do, looking at their deals 9 are under 21 and home grown so they don’t count. Can’t work out how they are allowed to loan 8 though? Maybe something to do with obligations to buy?

No idea, big clubs seem to do as they wish.
