Striker David Nugent was Leicester City’s top goalscorer for three seasons when he played for the Foxes between 2011 and 2015. Earlier this month, he met with Club Historian John Hutchinson to remember his career in football.

 

In part one of the interview, he talks about his time before Leicester City. He describes his spells at Liverpool, Bury, Preston North End, where he played for England, Portsmouth, where he played in an FA Cup Final, and Burnley.

Always played with a smile on his face looked like he was enjoying playing, I know this seems to annoy some people but I like to see players enjoying playing.

He had a different style of running; kind of a narrow stride and kept his top half stable. His goal against Liverpool was a proper bicycle kick.

 

Rapid, sleek and a lethal finisher. Very important goals in the Championship season; Leeds especially.

Had the Kop on strings with his celebration against us a few months before he signed.

 

Still one of my favourite LCFC players. A key part of a genuinely likeable & quality team.

Absolutely love Nugent. Always looked happy to be playing and was a great player for us.

 

The squirrel incident is just legendary.
