Is Mark Joyce now an amateur? He seems to have been a feature in quite a few events over the years although usually losing in the early rounds. Has he lost his tour card?

Also what is the problem with him & Allen

Yep:-

Allen has a bit of history with Joyce:-

Chris wakelin played very well to beat the fan fave Ding, 3 total clearances in a row, you don't see that too often.  I was surprised to hear he's only 32 though...:o

Guodong was very good against Murphy hitting 3 centuries (almost 4) on the bounce.

Si Jiahui bangs in the tournament high break of 144 in Wuhan, two frames later he beats it with a 147.

What a talent 🔥

Great to watch too.

If you watch the video footage it's quite obvious something dodgy is going off. Missing shots by a large margin.

I remember seeing that, he did some full on exaggerated acting when he was missing shots

Went to the qualifiers in Leicester on Tuesday, started with Hawkins then dipped into O’Connor’s match against Holt. Stayed for the afternoon, watched Xintong vs Saengkham and luckily Gilbert was on the next table…

As for York, some tasty R1 matches incoming…

Nothing easy in this tournament I guess but that’s awful for Selby first up

The worst draw for Lisowski too. I don't think he has the stomach for a battle with Selby. Far too flaky. Selby will grind him into submission.

Day or so late but I watched Stan Moodys final round qualifier and he’s a very impressive potter but some of his safety shots and attempts at escaping snookers were absolutely dreadful.

admittedly I’m not a snooker expert but there was some really poor shots choices from him that surprised me or perhaps they’re not actually surprising!

I agree, Jack at times has the attention span of a goldfish but I’ve still jumped on at 6/4 😂

Selby for me it seems in the last few seasons either storms to the business end of a tournament or absolutely bombs out in the first round.

My bank balance would prefer the latter 😂

Gilbert through after beating Guodong 6-4. Tried his hardest to mess up that last frame though but got over the line.

Barry Hawkins up next who'll no doubt be buzzing after beating Ronnie. Will need to up his game a notch again.

Excellent stuff from Lisowski considering he was 0-3 down at the start of the match. Essentially won the next 7 frames 6-1 to win the match.

If he can keep that sort of level he can win the tournament, but that's a big question mark.
