Black raincoat, lost half of a front tooth wearing one of these. It wasn't belted up and as I was running the buckle swung up and wacked my tooth.

I was without a landline during the early 90’s and managed to spent a small fortune on these.

We had a shared line back in 70s with our neighbour who was a second hand car dealer always on the phone whenever i wanted to make a call and his drive and nearby road awash with his cars.

May be an image of American football and text

i used to jumble these up and select two at a time like a cup competition and then make up the result in my head.

the winners would progress to the next round etc til it came to the final.

No bias then.

We used to do something similar but out of a hat and then roll two dice, there were some lovely big scoring games.

Does anyone remember when Fantasy football was done by paper? Can remember my dad doing it in the late 90's/early 00's. Having to send in your transfers a week in advance lol

Did something similar. Definitely bias on my part as Leicester often won. Luckily I avoided any investigation

Computer paper.

Used to get loads of this back in the day for the kids to draw on the back of. In fact, the front of any used sheets was so sparsely populated with any text/numbers, that could be used too.

Thinking about it; what we're they for? The printer would dish out reams of the stuff, which would just be left lying around, filed or put in a bin before being reborn as an ideal childs drawing pad.

Yes. A group of us in our school sixth-form had a league going in the early 90s. We'd all tell the league chairman what changes we'd like to make to our weekly line-ups and then at Friday lunchtime he'd go to the phone box just outside the school gates and ring them through to the company that ran it.

We used to use them for material lists for products for something like a Fire Alarm panel there'd be quite a few, one for each sub-assembly, which could be 4 or more and then one for the final assembly. Then you've got the same for the costs related to each part.  Add in wages etc as you say there were 100s of them until we moved to A4 printers.

People dreamed of a paperless business but it seemed like the more advanced it got and the easier to print off the more paper there was.

I think with easier access to digital devices things have become much more paperless now, though.

Does anyone still do jig-saw puzzles anymore? A few weeks ago I was rummaging through some childhood stuff and found a 500 piece jig-saw of the great Walter Payton. Took me a few hours but I did it...

Did one yesterday (4 piece lol)  with one of my young grandchildren.

I get what you mean though, they seem to be quite rare amongst adults.

I think every single one I've done though, within 10 minutes, I'm speculating that a piece must be missing because I'll be damned I can find what I'm looking for.

(Not with the 4 piece one though - I hasten to add)

Years ago visiting my Dad in Switzerland and his Wife had the beginnings of a huge 6’x4’ jigsaw spread across a table. I stole a piece and flew home.
She was not amused 😂

The bus conductor appears to be London Transport in his grey summer jacket. Would be dark green in winter. Not wearing his cap. The ticket machine is a Gibson. They go for good money these days. Look like the bus is a Routemaster rather than an RT.

When I was a kid, my dad would use the numbers on the ticket to play a hand of whist, 0 being a face card.

Living on the outskirts of London as a kid and then years later working in central London, the Routemaster was the absolute bee’s knees.
