Like many people said I think if he’d of had a year or two out on loan before coming into our first team he’d be a completely different player, has a lot more pressure on his shoulders now with being an FA cup winner and playing in the premier league. Some young players deal with it well I think he’s probably struggled

Love a social post from some random bloke as proof that he's already failed at another club, especially when one of the replies is from someone saying he played well in a previous match.  Sounds like Middlesborough were generally sh1te yesterday, which as we've seen here following Leeds, send lots of people on anger driven frenzies. Some of the shite our 'fans' post on the social is ridiculous too.

12 games left. Maybe leave him alone to get on with the loan rather than laugh after every 'poor' game.

I think he meant If he was as focused on his Career as much as he is getting phished he would be  quality, It’s a shame because as young lad from The city you want him to be the best and move on to better things, He has to want it for himself though

Ive read some shite over the years but fck me. ‘I dont like someone because of the clothes he wears’ 🤣

Not sure how you’ve inferred that, I was questioning his work ethic and willingness to improve. Have a good day

Young Luke has to keep at it. His career has not panned out as well as others from the academy but he should still feel lucky. Many never get as far as he has. He just has to find the right coach & club to become a better player. It’s not too late. A case of too much too fast.

What relevance does how he dresses have on his football ability? And ‘cya, shut the door on the way out’.. why the hatred?

Going on player ratings from yesterday he joined most of the team with a score of 5, only 2 players got a 6 and 2 players got 4 ratings so he wasn’t the worst yesterday.

Also from the write up and those saying he doesn’t offer enough in attack he was tasked with defensive duties to allow Ayling to attack on the right, incidentally both Plymouth goals were born from Ayling’s side when he was higher up the pitch so not sure if Boro fans are blaming the goals on Thomas.

He's just not that good really. Much like McAteer people clung to a few highlights and exaggerated his ability. He's not remarkable in any physical attibutes and not particularly remarkable on the ball. I imagine he'll find himself forging a solid championship career, but unless we have a massive drop off (which could happen if we don't finish top 2 to be fair) then he's really surplus to requirements.

In those two away games against Forest - the FA Cup humbling and the embarrassing non-showing last season - Thomas played both and looked genuinely scared every time they came at him. He was appalling both games.

I was absolutely livid at the team as a whole on both occasions, but having a local lad capitulate in such a manner not once but twice in a local derby he should have been fired up for was particularly telling. It spoke volumes of his wafer-thin mentality over those two seasons, and for me that's a man management issue, as proven by our squad's wider issues with a soft underbelly, failing to see games out and bottling success from good positions...

... please God don't let that happen again this season, I don't think I could take it. 😬

So to sum up, he's too thin, he's not as good as he thinks he is and he wears shit clothes.

GERRRRIMOUT!

This makes him sound flair IMO. Gerrimin

Remind me, his contract with us is up in the summer, int'it?

No, We hold an option to extend. There’s no reason not to do that as even loaning him out should command some fee for the season

It's the nature of the game that even talented youngsters who make it into the first team soon fall by the wayside. I'm going back a while with some of these but Mattock, Heath, Porter, Stevenson, Ashton, Neil Lewis spring to mind and I could probably think of 3 dozen if I had time. He's a decent player but if he'd come through the youth system at somewhere like Northampton he'd have probably stayed there.
