Please, please, PLEASE let this be the first and ONLY halftime show in the history of international football.

(or ANY football)

Add another half hour to that.

Ridiculous.

This has to be sorted out before the WC.

CONMEBOL is running this tournament in the U.S., the 2026 World Cup will be a different story. CONMEBOL is the same confederation that had to move the 2nd leg of a Copa Libertadores final to the other side of the Atlantic because they couldn’t get their sh*t together. This tournament was held in the States in 2016 and went just fine. The 1994 WC was fine. There were issues at the 2021 Euros Final and the 2022 Champions League Final; tonight was nothing new to the world of football.

It won’t be perfect but the United States has more experience hosting major sporting tournaments and events than most countries in the world.

Well...that was certainly a hard fought match, and it only took 4 hours to play it lol

Congrats to Argentina. A WC win sandwiched by two Copas is impressive. Obviously reminiscent of what that great Spanish side did.

Colombia had a great tournament, but were ultimately undone by Argentina's talent and depth.

Compelling final.

Sometimes (not often enough) Latin American football rises above its shithousery.

Final has been delayed at least 45 minutes due to some trouble with people getting in without tickets.

Hopefully not  sign of things to come at the WC but thankfully all was resolved without incident.

The only thing we've learnt from this tournament is that the world cup is going to be a mess.

It'll be expensive, in stadiums miles outside of cities with terrible public transport, far too hot, a terrible format, a good chance of getting shot etc.

It makes you long for the days of Russia 2018.
