Agree on Spain should make the final, but the French have been even worse than England at this tournament so far… 0 goals from open play does not deserve a place in the final of any major tournament.

Germany looked like the better team for most of extra time in this game alone.

 

Yes, Spain have been the best of the teams left in the tournament but Netherlands found some form in the last game so if theycontinue in that trajectory or England somehow find some positive form the gap will close in terms of potential deserved winners.

Difference being Greece got the most out of what they had. They had average technical players and, crucially, no pace, so they couldn’t really play effective open football.

 

England and France should be battering some teams 3 or 4 nil, but they have chosen to be negative. That’s what makes them so hateful for neutrals. It would be a travesty in one of them won.

It would indeed be nice if people qualified their subjective opinion as exactly that rather than spouting it in the manner of objective fact (one is saying what you think, the other has an air of telling other people how they should think, dangerous business outside of scientific fact) but here we are as football fans, I guess.

 

Personally, I'll take the functional over the aesthetic any time so how a team win a tournament means much, much less to me than the fact that they won it.

Very true, but Portugal did stink the place out in 2016 too, they were far from the best footballing side
