Good analysis. I think Cooper is definitely caught between attacking with two wingers or utilising the full backs as he has been doing as you  point out he is fearful of getting caught in transition and would explain his more cautious approach to matches. I think his cavalier approach when he was at Forest in their opening 10 or so games when newly promoted plays heavily on his current decision making.

It was nice to see an improvement with the set play stats you provided as well. Overall though I hope he settles for the Enzo style two winger attacking  system as the season continues as we definitely have the attacking personnel to hurt teams!

I've mentioned it a couple of times, but I'd accommodate the two wingers or trio of winks, skipp, Wilf by forgoing Vardy.

Either then play Stephy as the most advanced player or Buonnotte as a false nine.

It's counterintuitive to remove a striker to be more attacking, but as we are light on attacking xG anyways, I don't think we lose much but we gain a lot in box crashing and rapid breakways with a stable midfield..

Mads

Usual defensive four

Winks, Skipp double pivot

Abdul, Wilf, Stephy

Buonnotte

For me that's our strongest starting xi

Hopefully this is a bit of a moment like that game against Villa at home in the PL victory season… (not saying I’m expecting that)….. but in that second half, with the changes of Winks and Fatawu, and the slight formation change we looked a different beast. Cooper hasn’t dismissed the first half and I’m sure he will look to review it, but what it should tell him is that this is a very capable side, that he can trust and be braver with.

Could be the type of game that turns the season. Huge game on Friday to back it up with, and I’d say the second half performance proved that man for man we are a lot better than Southampton, and this squad certainly has the ability to comfortably survive.

Interesting thought. Just to check, who are your usual defensive four? Would you accommodate Ricardo within this? If so, who would you drop?

For me, I think we would waste Buonanotte as the most advanced player as his play making ability would be missed. He is also good with tracking back.

It is a good dilemma to have, and I think the difficulty is that you would rather make the difficult choice of dropping Vardy so we can accommodate both wingers and also Wilf. We also have Bilal who is good on the ball in the mix (and for Cooper, Ayew), so it is not an easy choice.

In fairness, the Premier League doesn't seem to win their lawsuits.

I feel like that is something that you usually just wouldn’t bother uploading if it has happened to you lol

Imagine us doing that after our debacle home to spurs a few seasons ago …… a bit tone deaf
