We can only have 2 PL loans, and we already have them filled.

Maybe palace will take Edouard back, but it will cost us.

That leaves one to come in as we aren’t shelling out for them (nor should we the fees they would cost).

The loan restriction seems so stupid from the PL.

It would allow promoted clubs to compete without having to spend millions on fees and avoid an obligation of long term contracts.

It would allow bigger clubs younger players to have a good crack at PL football earlier.

Allows clubs to reduce wage bill for players they can’t sell.

Limit club to club is correct to avoid collusion/unfair assistance, but only 2 per club from anywhere in the PL seems so short sighted.

Well, today were the very first green shoots I've seen.

I've caned the bloke on this thread. Really don't fancy him.

But we looked organised,.prepared and, at last, he picked more or less our best players for a change.

Thought Daka should've come on 10 mins earlier though.

It will be interesting to see how he does now he has an assistant. Having Ben Dawson was a real worry. Even more so given no one told him only a ****ing idiot would start Ward. Until he makes up those points, the shoe fits.

Zirkzee is probably the most likely of the two in my view. Kristiansen is playing, suggesting that the need for an LB is considered less urgent. Edouard isn't even getting on the bench, and our only other attacking options are Daka and Vardy. Plus Zirkzee can play up front and on the wing- two positions where we are short with Fatawu's injury.

What have you been smoking? Zirkzee?

There's zero chance Manchester United are letting a recent 35m signing who is fighting for the starting striker spot there come on loan to us, where he's genuinely not even guaranteed a start over Vardy / Daka...

I can only assume you're saying this because:

1 - he's Dutch and so is Ruud

2 - he's at Man U and so was Ruud

He isn't getting the game time and is already being linked with moves away.

Perhaps do your homework before trying, and failing, to be a smartarse.

Great homework, an Iffy rumour to Juventus? hardly relegation zone Leicester City is it.

That's Footballnsider tier who will be linking him to us next because 1. He's Dutch and 2. Plays for Manchester United.

We're a million miles away from Zirkzee.

Fabrizio Romano is an iffy rumour? 😂

Surely it would make more sense for Manchester United to loan him out for the second half of the season, let him have the chance to rattle in a few under a coach who knows his game and then sell him in the summer (if that's what they still want to do,) rather than take a probable big hit on him because he looks a flop right now?

Yeah that's an iffy Fabrizio Romano rumour

He won't be loaned to a PL club, certainly not us. If he does end up going anywhere they'll get a replacement first and he'll be off to Italy.

Your idea only makes sense because he's Dutch and plays for Manchester United.

Repetition is not development.

I have set out why it would make sense. Sell him now, and they take a big financial hit as he'll be considered a Premier League flop. Go on loan elsewhere, smash in a few and his value increases.

There’s two way to see this and your both right. Anything can happen in this window. Personally I don’t care for big time Charlie’s trying to prove their worth so they can get back in the good books of their current employers. Ruud will be looking to the Dutch leagues naturally and I hope he finds gold unlike Eric10hagg. We need players who can slot in immediately and make an impact. Our current plight cannot afford a lengthy hopeful honeymoon period. We need hunger, desire, fight and ambition. That last one is key as it drives everything else albeit it’s at the risk they become a star and we have to sell because Chelsea comes sniffing around again. That’s the game we have to play sadly to survive

I think yesterday proved how important Winks is for us. Against West Ham and yesterday we actually had a midfield. Winks received the ball from the the defence and we could progress up the pitch. None of our other centre mids have the technical ability on their own. I think he's our most important player.

I wish Soumare would just move with the ball a bit more rather than getting rid of it so quickly. He could be a great player if coached properly.

I agree with you on this. Will he get that coaching in the new set up? Could just be a confidence issue though?

I am off the opposite opinion, as although he is strong, he is not that mobile, despite the occasional burst forward. He is best placed to receive it, hold off the opposition, send it around the corner for a more mobile team mate.

Yes totally agree. He has to stay fit for us to have any chance of staying up. Knits the game together for us.

I bet he’s looking forward to some time on the training pitch over January. Less games, hopefully Ndidi back from injury.

Would rather he be at the job centre

Would he stay if we got relegated? Would we want him?

Depends how the second half of the season pans out I think. I think if he can get us at around a point per game, with an ethos and clear game plan then there's lots of merit in keeping him, even if we've ultimately been relegated.

Ruud is better than Cooper and we'll have more chance of attracting better players under him than Cooper in January

We've shipped goals under Cooper with Faes and Okoli in defence, the same with RVN partnering Vesty and Coady.

Let's face it we're shit but I am much more optimistic with RVN at the helm than Cooper.

It only seems 5 mins ago that some thought we’d get Cole Palmer on loan as Maresca had joined us :-D

We might have if only Chelsea didn't step in and buy him. He was clearly an Enzo favourite.
