Lets get behind LEVEIN

We are probably playing the best football i have whitnessed since supporting Leicester. Since the Bunley game at turf moor, the football we have been playing has had me on the edge of my seat, it has been fantastic too watch.

I myself have been upset with results, and even called for levein to get the sack at times. but recently the way the team has been playing has left me proud to be a city fan.

I think we all need to get behind the team and give them as much support as we can over the hectic festive period because i beleive that a playoff place is still realistic.

Getting rid of Levein now would prove too be shortsighted at best.

Honestly mate to think a playoff place is realistic is shortsighted, I understand what you say though and I personally want to see Levein stay longer than go sooner - but the problem is that for me personally it is getting to the point where I'm feeling that it can't all be bad luck, poor finishing on occasion, bad goalkeeping or whatnot, that perhaps Levein isn't good enough for this level. However saying that I'm not against Levein at all and I'm more than willing to give him to into next season, well as long as we don't get relegated this year.

Best football??? Bloody hell you must not have supported city for long. I was about asleep on saturday. It was awful. Hes got to go. Hes taking us no where. 13 wins out of 53! Just shocking in a poor league.

Levein Out!

I think you must have been asleep. Most shots in the Championship!

What are you expecting for the few bob we've invested ... 60's stuff? I don't think so yet.

But at least he's moving in that direction and Smithy might even have got in in the best side of that era (if he really used all his tricks).

One out of 11 and Humey/Joey perhaps on the bench. Every journey starts with the first steps. :)

if we had decent players though surely we would score a few of these shots though. we have to watch elvis hammond miss 15 sitters each week. kisnorbo pass it sideways and sylla mope about for 90 mins.

Smith didnt look interested on saturday like most of the team.

Levein is clueless all this moving in the right direction talk is rubbish. If he stays in charge we'll be down in the championship for years.

Not too sure really. Burely would be an idea but we might not be able to afford him. Theres a few managers in league one who would do a job. The brentford boss would do us a job

:D:D It took Burley four years to get ipswich promoted, shall we give levein a little more time before we put his name in the hat????????

to be fair we werent the most attractive side when MON was in charge. We were effective especially from set pieces. We were hard to beat. Dont get me wrong we could play nice football but it wasnt all pretty at all.

I agree with the first post - we are playing some cracking football but its results that win the fans over - not attractive football.

He is no more qualified to do the job than Levein what has Allen acheived as manager??? I thought you said you wanted to move forwards

Sums it all up in a sentence.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Our premiership players are long gone, CL inherited a desperately ordinary squad costing a lot of money with very limited cash for reinforcements. We are not the club we were, we have no divine right to be in the prem and it doesn't mean a manger is faling because he doesn't get us there straight away.

The raw materials simply weren't there for a charge up to the playoff places and the prem. Craig Burley would be going for slow patient team building in the abscence of significant trasfer cash, if you would be expecting him to lead a last-minute charge towards the playoffs you are naive. Other candidates are completely unproven at this level.

So a change of manager now would just be mixing things up a little in the blind hope that things are going to get better, hardly a winning strategy.

Long ball football mate... He got the results but some of the performances weren't great. Why do you think they called us the new wimbledon.

so you'd rather see us pass it well, hit the post twice and miss 4 sitters everygame than beat a premiership club 2-0. each to their own.

That wasn't the point that was being made! It was about how attractive, entertaining, and qualatative the football was. I haven't heard anyone denying the results are crap.

I seem to remember Martin Allen, the Brentford boss having a hell of a job getting his team to beat Hinckley United and then only scraping through after a replay.

It doesn't prove anything but neither does his record so far.

But always in the Play-Offs

What has Allen Achieved?!!? Their second in league one with the lowest wage bill in the division.

Levein took Hearts in to europe 2 seasons running whilst constantly having to slash the wage bill.

Which even atfer being slashed would be higher then most teams in the SPL.

Possibly but it was still a decent achievement and one of the reasons why we went for him in the first place. Everyone welcomed Levein when he came here because of his reign at Hearts.

Im just saying Allen has got Brentford in to a automatic promotion slot in front of 22 other teams with bigger budgets, ( in some cases much bigger ) therefore certain people on here should not be questioning his abilties as a manager.
