Yet another failure of the authorities to establish competent rules that actually work within the realities of the modern football they've created.

Not a fan of multi club ownership but Palace's ownership had no reasonable need to dissolve their ownership to prepare for European competition by March 1st as by that point, they were 12th in the Premier League and nowhere near the European places, were out of the League Cup and were about to play in the 5th round of the FA Cup. They'd never won a trophy or qualified for Europe before.

Meanwhile Forest spent most of the season in the Champions League places, so their own DID meet the deadline, only to falter and qualify for the Europa Conference League.

Instead they've now been given a European promotion and stand to attain millions more in prize money, sponsorships, gate receipts and merchandising that they have explicitly not earned.

This is the same Forest who, had they been given their 4 point deduction in the season they actually broke PSR rules, would have been relegated on goal difference.

Palace should take this to CAS, not that I have much faith in their ability to come to the right conclusion.

The authorities have turned this sport into a joke.

Spot on. Don't forget that Marinakis have convinced the criminals of UEFA he isn't involved in Forest. Meanwhile every single paper in Greece is reporting his moves strengthening Forest in the transfer window and which players might end up to Olympiakos from there.

Tbh I think I'm now fed up of this. I believe the time has come after 40+ years to stop following football. It seems there's nothing we can do to stop all this corruption and fans unfortunately won't do a collective boycott. Game has already been taken away from the pure fanbase.

I honestly hope Palace unearth the extent of his involvement as part of the appeal. Forest have behaved appallingly and deserve every bad outcome they incur.

Also remember Marinakis helps Putin evade sanctions by allowing Russian tankers to use his ports (plus all the human trafficking accusations).

but anyway, forest being in the europa league is probably worse for them as they’ll play better teams and have zero chance of winning the thing.

Little Palace can't do anything. Marinakis is untouchable, most people don't even know his background and power.

Palace is properly done in this case. This is high level corruption.

Palace vs Forest will be very interesting in a couple of months. Probably the first PL game with an away fans ban?

He's not the only one involved in this. There's a huge amount of EU officials/politicians/shipowners who are making money out of this Ukraine-Russia conflict. Don't forget also the involvement of the USA and the EU shipowners regarding the expensive LNG shipment with tankers from the States.

This is true. There was only really Fiorentina, Strasbourg and Mainz who looked likely to challenge them before the inevitable UEL drop downs from the qualification rounds.

In the UEL, they're up against Villa, Porto, Betis and Roma to name but a few. No way they finish top eight in the league phase and the first decent side they meet in the knockouts, including the playoffs, will finish them off. They just won't have the attacking quality without Gibbs-White and Elanga.

You know that one person that you know. They are always talking about themselves, how great they were when they were younger but have done some dodgy stuff in the past. But when things don't go their way, they act like a spoilt brat and stamp their feet saying it's not fair. It is also everyone else's fault, but clearly they're wrong. They also take others stuff and claim it as theirs as they gave a right to it?

Yeah, that's Forest.

Marinakis, not involved at Forest, but can get on the pitch after a game and have a go at the manager lol

Yeah, actually he should get a stadium ban for stepping onto the pitch if he has no affiliation with Forest.

Forest are such an unlikeable team that really don't help themselves

The problem is that every single answer I gave would be 'some inbred self-worshipping cvnt.'

And I'd get full marks.

I don't think Marinakis cares if they go deep into Europa League. It's all about money and the participation in Europa League means automatically more money than the Conference League.

Fans can dream or whatever. Owners don't give a F about fans.

Winning the UEL means UCL even if you have a diabolical league campaign- hence why they're losing arguably their most important player to a side who only finished one place above us.

But I would argue that the UEL was weirdly weak last season and simply won't be that ropey again this. It's not even that lucrative, especially given the sheer amounts of money Forest have lobbed at their squad with revenue nowhere near that of the big clubs. We learned that to our cost and Forest are about to.

To be fair, not many owners are as self-confident as this guy..:

Forest fans still being smug and proud that they have got Europa league by default, saying its theres, not giving it back, blah blah blah

Not one of them thinks its bad that they A: Complained to UEFA when their Owner is as guilty as Palace: Got their own way and by default got into the tinpot league C: Their owner owns 2 blubs when he says he doesnt.  Hipocrites.

No self morale, Forest stinking up the premier league yet again and they feel no remorse about it whatsovever, absolute scum the lot of them. From the fat greedy owner to the fans.  I hope every PL team scythes their players down next season and the away fans constantly give them grief, bunch of w@nkers the lot of them... I got a kids football tournament today and all im gonna get is "Europa league this, europa league that, the reds are back, look at what we have done, so on and so on"

Apparantley now they are looking at Forest, how did Stavros meet the march deadline when he only filed his shares to be sold in April ? might be interesting, might be nothing.  If I was palace I would pull out all the stops for the CAS hearing now as forest havent held back so I wouldnt either.

tbf if I was a Forest fan id be ashamed of the way the higher ups/owner are acting.

the "sham" trust fund thing, the owner marching onto the pitch, moaning about Palace in the UEFA,

yeah but nothing on the dodgy as hell deals between Textor owned teams and Forest then yeah, players moving for well over value etc

amazing how Tony Bloom and Brighton didnt complain like Forest did isnt it.....

think its far to say any good will towards forest has rightly gone out the window, and rightly so

not to mention the fact isnt Textor shares in palace are in the process of being sold

really hope Palace get it over turned,

I really hope so, Forest dont deserve it and anyone that thinks they do needs to take a look at themselves.  Forest are porbably one of the most crookiest in the league, their "owner" is a joke and they should be embarassed by his behaviour, they say hes not involved but all we know he pulls the strings, its so obvious. They think they are a privileged club cos they wont the European cup like 45 years ago, thats nearly half a century and they havent achieved anything since and wont do either.  Living in nottigham I see how deluded they really are, sometimes is laughable and cringeworthy.  The amount of abuse I get from them is a joke also, they are so jealouse we won the PL and the FA cup and every opportunity they get for giving me abouse (like going down) they take it a thousand fold
