50/50 for me that, whichever way you call it the team it goes against will be feeling aggrieved.  Very slightly leaning towards no pen, but then he did wipe the player out, elsewhere on the pitch you’d maybe expect a foul.

What a load of bollocks from VAR. The tiniest touch from Pope made absolutely no difference to anything.

As clear a penalty as you'll see really. They've tied themselves in knots and lost all common sense.

As I've said before the people applying the rules aren't fit for purpose.

I completely agree with you, The hate towards Arsenal on here truly makes me laugh, if that’s not given for us then it would be carnage on here

Some of you need 2 things ASAP. Have your eyes checked and afterwards learn again the rules of the sport. GK goes for the ball, deflects the ball, end of story. Whatever happened after he deflected the ball is irrelevant.

this every day all day

the games truly gone if some people thing the keeper making a great one footed tackle, getting the ball first, and then play falls over his legs so its a penno......two footed yes, but look how he did it, their knees collided after the keep got the ball first... great tackle/save

Player got the ball first then touched it and took out the player

What do you mean player got the ball first? Who cares if the Arsenal player touched the ball first? He tries to get past the keeper and the ball is clearly deflected by the keeper sideways. The only way this to be a pen it's if there was dangerous play by the GK (which ofc doesn't apply here).

What you going on about player gets the ball to take it round him the ball takes a slight touch of the keeper as he wipes the player out.

Not that hard to understand tbf mate.

yeah but the keeper tackled him fairly before their knees made contact and the attacking player went down and did a mini dive

thats basically what VAR said and I agree with them for once

The colission happens AFTER the keeper made the successful tackle/save. Slight touch, minimal touch of the ball doesn't matter.

It's really worrying some of you can't understand it.

its not a successful tackle as he takes the player out while the ball touches his toe, player get's to the ball first.

So he shouldn’t try and get to it? Thin lines.
