I’ve already wrote about this on the other thread that got hastily locked just after I posted.

Just read it. I'd say it's pretty much spot on

Would expect that means the midlands league runs with 21 teams, for the second season running.

Most probably unless they can put Rugby Town back in, I hope they do as their ground is decent.

Hopefully Hinckley AFC move into the stadium. Decent stadium and finally Hinckley get to play within the town again. Leicester Road going under as sad as it is for volunteers and fans. Its probably best thing to happen to the town of Hinckley. Having just one club will allow for bigger attendances.

Thank Fcuk they’ve gone. A ghost club ran by a con man. That article accuses players of being Judas but doesn’t mention unpaid wages.

They have known this was going to be case for months but they’ve delayed it until after the league projections. Zero respect from other clubs

Don't think there is a precedent for that, allocations are already out and the UCL south would have to run a team short, knock down affect through all the divisions. In these cases, you'd reprieve the best team on PPG that finished in the relegation places which wouldn't be Rugby but that could be anywhere and you'd have teams being moved around, complete nightmare with recruitment already underway.

It’s a heck of a long shot so it’s doubtful it’ll happen. For selfish reasons it would be good but it’ll cause havoc in the other divisions.

Couldn't afford to pay the players...how they going to afford the running costs for that stadium with just youth teams playing there

Better off selling the stadium, I mean could Hinckley and Bosworth council afford to buy it and turn it into a community stadium. Convert it to 4g then can be used every day, Hinckley AFC could become tennants, maybe even Leicester City women could utilise as their new home. It's a good stadium that's perhaps got to waste over the last decade. Having two football clubs in Hinckley as certainly restricted progression as seeing a town football team develop. Hinckley AFC have been playing all over the shop in Leicestershire, of course needed to spend money on renting grounds making no income bar takings with attendances around 200 mark. Leicester Road been only attracting crowds of 100 or less. Makes you think after Hinckley United folded, it should have been an AFC Hinckley United that should have been phoenix club that formed that took over the stadium and the club may have climbed the non league pyramid. Obviously a lot of politics at the time forced two clubs to be formed.

Very true. But that’s Ku for you.

The answer to that is no unfortunately. Back in 2013 they could have, but the actions of its current occupier cut that avenue off. As with most councils they’re cutting it close with reduced funding from central government and they can’t afford, monetarily or from a political capital view, to be buying an incomplete ground out for a football club with attendances of 200.

That doesn’t mean they couldn’t look to purchase it with assistance from a commercial partner, but as a club it’s very much our duty to make that as attractive a proposition as possible. We’re in partnership with Hinckley Ladies and looking to create a youth setup, I like to think the club has, slowly, began to build up its reputation in the town and its capabilities since it’s been in Barwell but that’s something we need to keep chipping at with the resources we have.

Whatever is created by the current regime at the stadium won’t be anything more serious than a stopgap because they’ve now got a reputation for non-payment with no serious investment looking likely, a mid-table LSL Div 1 Dev side and an active campaign against them from parents of ex-youth players who are apparently looking at an FA investigation into them.

Regardless what happens a stadium like that should be a community asset and it should not be held hostage by a multi-time failed football club owner.

The other point I'd make Finnaldo is my strong gut is that the club was shut down because the floodlights company claim on them was so strong. Ku as well know with his experience in these matters shut it all down before any financial orders could be held against him as the sole director of the company. I am not surprised that all football played there from now on won't require floodlights for example

I’ve said exactly this over the weekend. The statement mentioned restarting at step 6, but given all he had currently is a team that finish mid table in step 8, and no obvious income, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a show and dance that’ll ultimately end up just taking the dev’s side place to save them cost.

The grief they’re getting from ex-parents who are actively trying to warn off parents will be a blow too if the plan was to cash in on kids team. I don’t see much else he could pull off there to be honest.

Well, the unthinkable happened! I'll be heading through Filbert Street's old turnstiles once again. Welcome back Rugby Town.

My local team Southam United chopped out the Hellenic league towards the end of last season. Had turned into a proverbial punch bag. No sign of them resurfacing this season yet.

Real shame given how hard some of their supporters worked to get a new ground

Town or Athletic?

Town.

If they carry on, they will challenge Nuneaton, Atherstone and Aylestone. Players like Liam Read are easy top step 4/mid step 3. To be fair at Lutterworth's budget, they won't be on stacks of money.

Boro have signed a four players now from Heather St Johns, proper raid. So we have taken the front two, their midfielder and their centre back. Not going to leave Heather with anyone left. I'm not sure if Heather will be challenging again next season with the amount of exits.

Bit strange for me. Hardly pushing the club on but maybe a sign the budget isn't that big.

Kyle Jardine i believe stating at an awards evening at Heather St Johns like two or three weeks ago. He was happy at Heather, didnt care for the money just enjoyed playing football with his pals at the club. So Boro solved that problem signed Jardine and his pals 😆
