Worrying times for KP.

It rather seems that Top has no ability to run a business, which is a worry for us.

Not sure how Top can control the travelling habits of mainland Chinese Tourists, who were previously King Power's cash cow:dunno:. The World of business never stands still, accept that is, when LCFC appoint a new head coach.

I agree, It’s a tricky bump in the road for his business for sure, but any competent CEO evolves the business to cope, maximises revenues from the remaining footfall, cuts costs, finds new markets etc etc.

The KP “leadership” carry on where Vichai left them and hope that things improve without any activity on their part.

Their inertia is evident here and in Thailand, and seems typical of a lot of inherited successful businesses that unfortunately eventually fail through lack of change

I’m no fan of Top at the moment, but having read the article and read up on the history of that paper, it’s a very bias and loaded article. Most of what the jorno references is from 10 years ago.

The paper has been anti monarchy and pro military intervention at times and this would explain why they are so against the monarchy favouring KP’s Monopoly (which they recently won again). KP owning us, and our previous success is at the end of the day a form of sports washing for a pro Thai image, and they will want to do all they can for KP and us to succeed.

The issue looks to be one of declining tourism in Thailand rather than of KP itself, and due to this they’ll probably get away with reducing their payments for the monopoly.

King Power is in a much much better situation than they were 2/3 years ago, I think this is a bit of a non article.

We’re still in the shit though

Top will, no doubt, get blamed by someone on here for the rise in the cost of Ladies Drinks in the Pataya go-go bars.

Rather than make broad swipes at anyone with an opposition opinion, tell us why Top is doing a good job in the 2 businesses he is in charge of.

New CEO of King Power has given an interview to the same “biased” publication today and admitted that the business isn’t in a good position

https://www.nationthailand.com/business/corporate/40051625

This essentially reads that KP are going to try to renegotiate three airport contracts, the payments of which were calculated upon pre covid tourism figures.

The CEO also speaks upon how they need to diversify after a drop in tourism and their need to stay ahead of the game.

After covid 19, which wrecked tourism, which no company could possible foresee, these are perfectly reasonable decisions to take.

If you read that article and don’t see the way the language is used to paint a doomsday picture, then fair enough, but having read both it is personally evident that somebody is trying to paint a terrible picture out of not to much. No paper is without bias, look at each one in England, the same applies in Thailand.

I must emphasise that I think top has done a terrible job over the last 5 years at Leicester, but I don’t think these articles are as bad as the headline makes out at all.

Can he come and work for us?

"Our next move won't be measured by superiority in doing the same old things," he said. "Success lies in reading the world accurately because the world has already changed."

This really could be describing us.

"Taking the helm of King Power Duty Free amidst its impending collapse, new CEO Nitinai Sirismatthakarn confronts the monumental task of company revival and the critical need to restore accountability"

These lot really have been asleep at both wheels. It seems like this lack of accountability isn't unique to the operating of the football club.

The people that have defended these lot regardless of abject failure should be ashamed. We could be in real trouble.

50/50 on this. New CEO painting a bleak picture to make himself look like a hero or we are in a whole world of trouble.

This - a new CEO stock is at it's highest once appointed, he knows this - so takes the opportunity to sling this kind of interview out there, then if the wold around him get's a bit brighter everyone can say it was him who turned it around.

Agreed, however, there is quite a lot of language painting a picture of complete neglect and head burying in there which is a bit more pointed than one might usually expect, especially in Thailand

And this…

Taking the helm of King Power Duty Free amidst its impending collapse, new CEO Nitinai Sirismatthakarn confronts the monumental task of company revival and the critical need to restore accountability.

… are we sure the writer is not talking about LCFC, the parallels are startlingly.

So many comparisons between how King Power and Leicester City have both seemingly been ran and there's one big common denominator.

Now he's been moved on to a mickey mouse position at King Power, hopefully it's time for him to wake up and see the state the club's in as well.
