There was so much hype for Nelson and whilst he might be a good CB in the future, hasn't show a great deal in this set up with the rest of the jokers. It affects them all! Nelson has had games where he looks so composed and dominant then others where he looks lost and has a howler. Honestly think he’s just been a victim of how much of a shambles we’ve been. Put him in a proper system and I think he’d do well… that’s just my opinion anyway 8

Just doesn't take long for these promising young players to suddenly turn awful. 1

Someone like Nelson could benefit so much from a Morgan/Huth type character alongside him. I think for the likes of Page, Monga & Aluko in any other season we’d be very happy with how they’d got on. It’s just they’ve been thrown in when the club is self destructing so everyone and everything is under a spotlight. Page for me has been the best out of the 3 thinks he’s come on a lot since the start of the season 2

I think awful is a strong word for a player who has largely played well despite being partnered with Vestergaard and Okoli for the most part. At the very least, even if he plays just as badly as Faes, Vestergaard and Okoli he is young and only on relatively low wages, which still makes him an upgrade. As an added benefit he also plays better than those three on average. Edited 18 February by honeybradger

I like Nelson and was excited to see him come into the team but my overarching point being none of these kids are going to thrive from how hopeless we are collectively!

It's part of developing. I would say that a good prospect can easily have bad games, but a bad prospect is less likely to be able to have good games if that makes sense. 4

Probably learn more from the poor game than the good to be fair especially as a defender.

JimJams Posted 20 February Posted 20 February Sooooooooooooooooooo.... Jaw breaker Coulibaly gets his first start in forever for Sassuolo and they win comfortably 3-0. On the face of it that sounds great. Unfortunately Woyo got himself booked in the 17th minute and was subbed off in the first half (36 mins) after giving away another free kick with the score at 0-0. 1

Yes afaik the deal is done before end June so it’s in this seasons accounts. I believe it’s around 20m so not a huge amount in the plus column.

Came off the bench a couple times and looked ok in limited minutes. Started once in the papa John's trophy on the wing and looked like a good goal threat, he scored but went a bit early on his run.
