We pay a lot of money to watch them. They get paid a lot of money to play. The least we should expect is effort from them and from what I have seen from some of the players borders on disdain for the club and its supporters.
Ever wondered why we are seeing so many empty seats?

It works the other way too.

Our away end was noticeably up for it before kick-off, despite a lot of us expecting Derby to win.

The bit at the end when JJ goes over to the fans is joyous - shame he didn't video it for longer. That song is well and truly stuck in my head.

It's always a good feeling when a song that's being flogged by UFS seemingly with no support from the wider fanbase suddenly bangs. It's been a little while.

I’m with you there. We always go to a match full of hope and expectation especially for a local derby.
You have to be pretty enthusiastic to keep that going when you consider some of the performances we have seen this season. If they lose and have run their hearts out you don’t mind but I can understand some of the boos at half time and full time for a less than satisfactory performance.

Keep at it lads, not all but the vast majority of the section appreciate the efforts 👏🏻

Was that the one when a bonfire was started under the stand using the broadsheet programs? Exciting for a teenager and didn't cross our minds how dangerous it was. Mad times.

Can't remember if it was that game, or maybe Boxing Day the year after?

But Derby were one of the few clubs to have a newspaper-type programme, which was asking to be burnt really ........................

(I remember a bonfire in Pen 4, home to Birmingham City mid 1970's, the one where we got stuffed 2-6 on the frozen rock hard pitch)

I remember a bonfire at Derby  away in 1981 I think - The programmes were made of paper and we were 3 - 0 down reasonably early doors is my remembrance

@jesussuperstar I was going to ask what’s funny about my post as I don’t remember saying anything humorous, but after noticing that you put smiley faces on anything atmosphere related then I won’t waste my time..

Poor atmosphere today im afraid.. nothing to get excited about even though it was one of the better home games of the season.

New Bobby song sounds like a hit but I couldn’t exactly make out the words and as many times as I go over it in my head I can’t think of the tune 😁

Not a massive fan of skipp but the last few games he’s played ok so he’s finally got a short and simple chant..

I do get a bit jealous of seeing other clubs having their sing songs as it really does bring it home how simple we are as a fanbase.. we desperately need some new material which is probably why I think at times the section stalls a bit. As shown with the Jordan James chant, it can be done.

I don't think we do need "new material".   We just need more City fans to support the team, and sing any of the 101 songs already available.

In fairness to the team, if they show the same commitment as they did today ... the atmosphere will pick up, I have no doubts.

One of the reasons the atmosphere has been so sh*t recently, is that the team have shown zero passion and zero desire to go forwards.

@SemperEadem The ground needs more joining in with the singing. Twice on Saturday it caught on a bit, it’s loud and it’s fun. Wish that could be drawn out some more

The most frustrating thing then you look over at g1 and g2 is that you can actually see some of their mouths moving. So they can clearly hear the section but the volume just don’t seem to rise. We clearly ain’t going back up as sung in the fatawu chant but that still gets sung so surely we can have the mavididi chant still on the song book? Couple of times he does something ok but silence after..

Completely agree about more people needs to help out, which is where performance on the pitch will change that..  Equally some upgraded sing songs will also add to the excitement..

In my opinion we should've made the entire south stand standing or a much larger signing section next to the away fans

In fairness, a full south stand is what UFS/a lot of us wanted but where do you put the whole of the KOP who want to sit? Are we going to get the L1 lads and P block lads to come over to the KOP? Probably not.

A singing section next to the away fans with L1 and P block there too with the current singing section would maximise what we have and give us a far better chance of a better sustained atmosphere but that’s a pipe dream sadly. That said a lot of it just comes down to effort. The best atmospheres we’ve had at our place have been before singing sections and safe standing.

100% agree but Southampton made their south stand safe standing and imo it's made a huge difference. I think it would attract new season ticket holders potentially as well.

But the club arent interested in improving the atmosphere.  This is the difference between us and the likes of southampton.  We put safe standing where fans stood before to appease the SGSA.

It was decent the other night. The whole end singing together which isn't something we can manage.

Yeah think this is it - until James pulled his pants up you'd struggle to find a single player worth getting excited for. Monga was probably the only one and his name got sung louder than anything early-season.

No coincidence that now more players are showing up and doing their job, they're getting appreciation from the stands.

i thought saturdays home atmos was a lot better than usual. this goes in hand with the performance being that of 90 minutes

I thought it was half decent too....compared to some recent games.  Like it or not I think 3pm helps when people have had a couple (more) beers. I dont drink pre game myself so makes no odds to me but historically in my experience the later games tend to go hand in hand with a bit more drinking time and a bit better atmosphere.  Just my take.  It still don't explain why there isn't a bigger uptake of songs though.....you know......in the standing area.......formerly the singing section.  Clue is in the the name 😂

Maybe I need a hearing test lol i thought it was a slight let down but then again people have different views..

Dont get me wrong, im not claiming it was bouncing for 90 but compared to some recent games it was better in my opinion. Maybe it just felt better as it was nice to get a win and see something on the pitch you could get behind. It could be be different for different people in the same section of the ground, based purely on your row or rows behind or in front of you.  Ive been at games and thought "that was sh*t" and ive read posts that said the very same game was a good atmosphere.  It is a let down when u are the only one in your row/s singing or joining in.  You just feel a bit of a d1ck.

I think unless the whole ground is on it, which is a rarity … there will never be a straight answer as to whether it’s genuinely  good or not. It’ll always be down to whether your area is good or not. That’s the downside of having 3 separate areas compared to say Southampton who’s end makes a genuine difference to the whole ground. The section could be bouncing but the other end could say the atmosphere is dead and visa versa.

This was an unofficial thing back in 2007 and it was great fun and quite rowdy

Obviously the fun police (LCFC) soon put a stop to it
