Build a moat round it. Have some fletchers taking aim out of narrow windows at the top of the stadium. Poor boiling oil off the roof  if anyone tries to invade. Have a grainstore in a central compound and keep Wout and Winks in the Tower....

3m reinforced concrete walls around the entire ground, with GAU-19/B emplacements every 50m, interspersed with tripod mounted PF-89 RPG launchers. Snipers positioned on floodlight gantries equipped with M24 SWS sniper rifles and a 20m perimeter minefield around Jon Rudkin's office.

Have you been playing a lot of Call of Duty while you've been off work?  :P

We miss the Birches rally call pre match, of course the poor guy is not in great health and had to reduce his duties around the club. You think maybe it's time for the baton to be passed on to another former fox to address the fans pre match like Matt Eliot.

The worrying part about this is that I think it’s a genuine comment

If by "fortress" the OP means an intimidating atmosphere, clearly there needs to be fewer passive fans in the ground, or at least fewer passive fans in the more vocal areas - principally the "Kop". As you can't achieve this by denying access, the only ways this'll happen are (1) relocations, which we know won't happen at scale under KP (2) a period of being crap, meaning STH renewals will decrease.

As (2) isn't a strategy, let's get rid of KP and move forward from there.

I've been going to city matches for the best part of 35 years. Aside from when we were winning the premier League the atmosphere has always been crap. People that claim otherwise live in a made up yesterday imo.

Not exactly true, the season before, even before we were in the dog fight and bottom of the league, opposition goals were greeted with a rallying cry from the kop before the ball had been picked out of our net. We never rolled over to teams, we encouraged the team back into the game. 0-2 against Man United was greeted with a roar from the crowd before we obviously know what followed.

Yes, I think this was linked with the excitement of promotion and first stint in the top flight in a decade, and we have being spoilt by the league win and premier league stability.

Exactly this and as a result we do have a good reputation with at least the media for a good atmosphere.

We've proved we can do it. Which probably makes it even worse when it's bad. Those theories about acoustics as just bollocks to be honest.

Have the posters signed up for the your 90 minutes meeting this Thursday pretty much on this topic?

Less than 72 hours before this session is apparently happening and they seemingly haven't confirmed who has got a place on it, dreadful.

I'm going to say what we're all thinking - a lot of our fans need to die

This may be true for some of the older fans, but aside from UFS the rest of the younger fans around me weren't making the noise, in fact they were pretty dismal.

Our fans are now in general utter rubbish across all age groups, and have been for a long time.
