Absolutely nobody is calling for the play offs to be altered.

Don't like it. Almost like they're trying to make it a lottery to make it to the promised land rather than on merit.

 

They know a team that gets promoted after finishing eg 8th has even less chance of staying up. Making the Premier League even more of a closed shop.

Why not make the play-offs go all the way down from 3rd to 24th, eliminator style, until the final is the winner of the entire EFL playoff pool versus the third worst team in the Premier League. 

Just think of the mayhem when a team that should’ve been relegated to League One manages to beat a Premier League club and gets promoted instead. Oh yeah, and it’s basically a straight position swap - so if the PL side lost to a relegated Championship side, they’ll end up in League One. 
 

Nothing quite like the threat of double relegation to make it more interesting.

Can actually work against the teams in 3rd and 4th as they would have a gap with no game and could damage momentum like an international break.

It will soon be like the MLS where half the teams in the league qualify for the play offs.

How about the top three get promoted to the Premier League. 

Then the 4th to 7th, 4th to 10th, 4th to 24th or whatever gets a place in the Europa Conference.

I'd rather that than yet another display of the EFL's disrespect of what it takes to get promoted into the Premier League.
