Which isn't saying he's any good, just that getting someone better would be a major coup I think any appointment is better than MC, never thought I would see a worse manager than RVN, it’s been a huge hold my beer moment
Dahnsouff Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Go down the leagues in the search for a new manager (if we indeed have the opportunity to have one) and ignore all the usual suspects. 1

Even the worst possible option Brussel Martin would be an upgrade on Marti. They're both crap managers, one has at least got his team promoted to the PL. You don't need to do much to be better than Marti Cifuentes Edited 25 January by BrilliantFox

Former player. Knows the league. Needs an opportunity at a club that could actually get promoted. Did a lot of the ground work for Lampard at Coventry without the money to spend. And he has done it again at Stoke. Not against him but cant see us paying compo for any manager so it will be someone currently out of a job. 1
teblin Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Someone like rowett who might take it until the end of the season. Is what I can think.

Not a good idea, I think. These players already have an entitled attitude and don't give a shit; they will eat someone promoted from the ranks for breakfast. We need someone with an iron fist, a Moyes type, not an effete character, like the current one.

The whole squad is just rank. I think it's more than a coincidence that 3 consecutive managers have not been able to get this team playing. On top of being at most average, none of them were able to bring in any useful players, or get rid of the dross. I think it's in large part the clubs unwillingness or inability to back any of our managers since Maresca, which coincides with the PSR debacle. Until that is concluded one way or the other, I think we will decline. 1
Spudulike Posted 25 January Posted 25 January I don't think we need to worry about Russell Martin as the club previously pulled back from appointing him following backlash from fans. They really don't need any more unrest.

We need someone with an iron fist, a Moyes type, not an effete character, like the current one. I am not sure this is true. Its easy to think a perceived authoritarian will knock these tarts into shape, but I don`t that is what's required, as if these lots are as weak mentally as we feel, they won`t be screamed into obedience, they need to willingly get on board . What we need is someone to sell their project, their vision, and this does not mean some flouncy, no-press, pass to death tactic. It means someone who comes in and say they see the errors, they see the weaknesses and that they see the way to fix it. Those in house get on board or are side lined. You don`t need a shouter for this, you need someone who knows that they are doing. Maybe ideally both though
CarolinaFox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January Mowbray, Rowet, or Hasenhuttl in that order. Any one of those three would do. In an ideal world Mark Robins given where we are as a club.
jonny_wright Posted 25 January Posted 25 January No more fancy pants football, we need a hard Brexit manager now…. Let’s be hard to beat for once 1

kingfox Posted 25 January Posted 25 January We have a week to appoint Kevin Muscat, so we can see him throttle Nathan Jones as we smash Charlton 5-0.
