Shared a lift with Alex Carey earlier. Asked him his hopes for the day

‘Wicket 1st ball and bat 400’ he said 😂

How did that happen? lol

Our weird obsession with bowling short annoys me

Only 4 balls were going on to hit the wickets in the 1st session. Mind blowing.

Was 334 less than par? There was Vaughan saying we were going to win again yesterday.

Ball is still doing bits, one more before tea and it's still evenly poised - advantage Australia though currently.

334 less than par in the sense that the 50+ runs Brook left on the table will probably cost us.

Utterly depressing watch this, we don't have a single answer with the ball.

Yeah looks like they've got very excited after that first innings. 470-5 since then.

Had that good spell in the first test, but is Carse actually that good?

Going at about 9 an over when you only have 4 options isn't helping is it.

Watching us bowl short is so crap isn't it, if we'd put on a huge total and had runs to play with then you could perhaps understand it, all we're currently doing is letting them potentially run away with it

You could dig into the details, but if we're being honest this is a pretty rubbish bowling attack.

The best we've got is hanging on by a thread and can't bowl for long

Too reliant on Stokes

Atkinson and Carse wouldn't have been anywhere near previous England squads

Wood never should have been selected

This was always going to happen post Broad and Anderson but can't help but feel we've bet on the wrong people to replace them.

Knew it was pretty poor going in to this series, but for Starc "stick" to be better than ours over these two tests is abysmal lol
