Interesting mentioning them needing to play in similar systems/styles.... Not sure that thought went into Otchere and Evans? I mean they're with a brilliant coach but he certainly isn't playing the same style. 

Leaves us quite limited and likely loaning to someone in the same league, Peterborough for example with the links to Luke Williams.

What's concerning about loaning them all out is if we get the level of injuries and unavailability we've had in recent years, couple that with how crap most of the senior players tend to be, then who comes in? 

 

You need to keep a few around.

You need to keep a few around.

I would rather take advantage of the versatility we have with players rather than keeping someone like Carr sat here because he might potentially get a couple of games off the bench because some senior has a knock

Might not be the same style of play overall but how they are expected to play themselves

 

Otchere was dropping deep at times for Cheltenham for example which is what would be expected of him here

Agreed if we have enough options in certain positions which out wide i'd say we do. But Lorenz Hutchinson for example, i'd be livid if we've loaned out 3 academy strikers and only have 1 recognised 1st team striker.

 

The same with Tommy Neale. We look to have 4 central midfielders in Hamza, Skipp, Braybrooke and Page. Suddenly lose a couple of those to injury and then what?

I’d love it if Carr & Hutchinson were kept around.
 

We don’t have a winger with pure pace like Carr. He’s behind quite a few players now though.

 

Hutchinson would be a real pest coming off the bench too

But would you keep Hutchinson when he is very unlikely to ever really get on the bench when we only have 7 spaces?

I think we will definitely want another striker but it is clear we have other positions that are at the front of the queue for new signings

 

It may be 4 centre mids but you would need to look at it for the roles they play seeing as we seemingly play with a 6 (which all 4 of those could probably play) and then a pair of 8s you then also have to include Chaplin, Cullen, and probably Reid, maybe even Alves

I think it would be unfair to keep Carr here for this season if we have a chance to loan him out when there is probably 3 or 4 players ahead of him, and then you could also go for someone like Joseph as well if you wanted to

I feel like Carr and Neale are right on the cusp. Probably Hutchinson too.

 

I think there are some creases to be ironed out with them and they need to be playing regularly just to get over that invisible line.

 

If they fulfil their potential on loan, I'd hope they'd be in contention for an early recall in Jan, same with Evans and Otchere

I know I was just talking purely as a fan and what would excite me.

Academy Graduates Commit To Next Stage Of Development

 

We can confirm a number of young players have agreed new terms with us, while several Academy talents have also taken the next step in their journeys by signing professional contracts.
 

Stevie Bausor, Bobby Amartey, Mirsad Ali, Logan Briggs, Josh King and Harry French have signed new deals

 

Alpha Diallo, Will Daniels, Hugo De Lisle and Fabien Simons sign their first professional contracts

 

Goalkeeper Stevie Bausor, 21, defender Mirsad Ali, 20 and striker Josh King, 19 have all signed new contracts to extend their says at the Football Club, while midfielder Logan Briggs, 21, also signed a new deal ahead of a loan to Northampton Town. All have been with our Academy since Foundation Level (Under-9s to Under-11s).

 

They join defender Bobby Amartey and goalkeeperHarry French, both 20, in continuing their progressions in our pathway, having each joined us at Youth Development Level (Under-12s to Under-14s).

 

The group have all played important roles across our Academy system in recent seasons, rising through the ranks and gaining valuable experience at youth and senior level.
 

Joining them in the professional setup are defenders Alpha Diallo, and Canadian youth international Will Daniels, both 18, Fabien Simons, 17, and midfielder Hugo De Lisle, 17, who have all signed their first professional contracts.

 

Alpha has been with us from the Under-9s to Under-11s age groups, Will and Hugo have been part of our Academy from Under-12s to Under-14s, while Fabien joined from Fulham as a Scholar last season.
 

They have all impressed throughout their time with our Academy and their new deals represent the latest stage of their footballing journeys as they look to continue their progression towards senior football.
 

These milestones also reflect years of work by staff across our Academy. Many of the players first came into the Club through our Pre-Academy before formally joining at Under-9 level and have since been supported at every stage of their development.
 

Their new deals are the latest examples of a pathway that has helped produce a number of players who have gone on to represent our First Team in recent years.
 

We’d like to congratulate our players on their new contracts and wish them every success as they continue their development with us.

"Only 7 spaces" haha. Not a dig at you at all btw, it just reminds me that the big selling point of allowing more subs was that it'd give more opportunity for young players. What it ended up doing was just having clubs bloating their squads with journeymen/experience on decent money.

Should’ve been made a requirement that at least 1 of the places has to be an under 19, club academy player

 

Make it so there is always at least one on the bench and strict rules so it can’t be taken up by someone young who is on loan

 

Like when they announced 9 player sub benches it should’ve been 2 places for youth players

Absolutely. As someone that plays FM and see's someone as 27+ as "on their way out" I'd go as far as saying 2 spots should be given to u20s from the academy haha.

I agree but I don't want Carr and Neale sit on their ass getting no minutes.

 

We have seen from Braybrooke, Joseph and Alves how much a loan can kick on there development.

 

I think we still bring in a striker on loan.

The question is that if Bristric and Cordova Reid are injured do the club even see Hutchinson as the next in line or is it someone like Cullen? We might even play Watson, Burns or Opoku there before playing Hutchinson.

 

I'm unsure if the club even see Hutchinson as a striker as he keeps ending up on the wing.

 

I want him to go out on loan where he can establish his position at striker. A loan also seems to be a pre requisite to get game time here, as seen with Aluko and Page.

Pretty common for young strikers to be pushed out wide when they are young, even with greats of the game like Kane and Lineker.

 

I want him out on loan if it helps fast track him.
