Paraguay were a bit lucky today but those decisions usually go against the small teams so they can cry me a river.

Can’t say I’ve been impressed by any of the 6 teams I’ve seen in the knockouts so my sympathy for anyone who gets knocked out is very limited. We have at least had some drama though.

The German media and fans aren’t going to be impressed at all in many different ways:

Poor Germany performance

The germans and German media will stop there. Dont rely on luck, chance or the toss of a coin. Get the job done and rule out that even being a possibility.

Germany failed in that. Passed it around nice. Did ****all with it.

Another manager who was given a new deal before the tournament will, rightfully, be gone. Thats an embarrassment for Germany.

You love to see it.

Expectations weren‘t high in Germany in the first place. Many calling this the worst national squad ever.

When you have to call the 41 year old GK out of retirement to be your number 1, its not the best of looks. They really not got another keeper better than Nuer?

Baumann, and many were surprised that Neuer got given the #1 over him. But can you really say Neuer was the problem?

True and they would have lost to France I suspect .

Just got back from the bar I was watching at, I was surprised by how many of the German fans were not expecting to win before the game started. Lots of people mad at Nagelsmann, lots of people blaming the foul (very soft, but I don't think it's a total robbery like some were making out), but mostly a feeling that the talent in the squad just simply isn't there. The only big name to really show up was sort of Havertz? But then he missed a super crucial penalty.

Paraguay maybe the most defensive side I've ever seen in my life. Just booted it away when in possession with the aim of giving possession back to Germany and keeping their low block in shape, horrible to watch.

Great to see Germany to go out especially on pens but this is hardly a victory for football.

You can’t say these knock out games haven’t been competitive.
I’m expecting one big upset and one big blow out in the other games, but loving the rest going down to the wire.
