Zero chance of promotion under Martin, simply not the right manager.

Unfortunately we lack a clear direction as a football club, that’s from the board.

Players and managers should be chosen on the ambitions and best for the club and situation. We simply pick who’s friends with people and then ultimately the manager brings in who he’s happy to work with not what’s best for the club or situation we are in.

We had our most successful period now we must endure our worst

After playing a couple of games at CB have we suddenly forgot how awful Luke Thomas is at full back?! It would be disastrous to put him against there best player.

Aluko then? Either way Macfarlane has been poor and looks leggy, like he did at the end against Plymouth. Need some fresh energy from somewhere

Just not good enough.

We must the easiest team in the world to play against. If you have a decent press, you press us into mistakes. Else, just low block our slow motion tiki taka and hit us on the counters. So frustrating.

Was hoping for better after Plymouth, but we are back in frustration and despair land. Riis looks like a proper lower league striker though.

Shhhhhh! Don’t bloody tell everyone!

Serves me right for genuinely believing things have changed. Extremely disturbing half of football that.

Burns, words fail me. What the fcuk have we done to ourselves with these experienced signings of him, Cullen and Chaplin.

Massively need to up their game, just fits the narrative of no standards at this club. They come here and immediately switch off.

Cullen on at half time to really compound the misery

People can moan about Burns and Reid, but Page is killing us today in the midfield, his touch has been awful and he finds a white shirt with near enough every pass. Its not his usual standards. Burns legs look gone and Reid just lacks anything that can contribute to a goal.

Oxford have played well and you can tell we’re playing a first game with a new striker; our linkup play isn’t quite there.

I still think our biggest problem is having too many players beyond the ball and up against their back line during attacking phases - I don’t like the way Martin uses his two 8’s.

He has changed it completely from what worked last game.  Thomas is controlling the attacks and can barely make a pass into the middle.  Page has to get scraps if Sammy or Reid manage to bounce it back under a press, last game he was the one driving forwards and controlling our tempo.

This should've been a switch after 20 mins, I doubt he will change it in the 2nd half.

Russell and his style, if that's what it is, couldn't be more exposed than it is in this game.

Fullbacks ahead of the CBs who keep both their wingers onside constantly.  When we have the ball AND we beat the press we edge forward slowly allowing them to drop back into position whilst probably more importantly, our defensive line progresses up the pitch leaving more and more space for the wingers to exploit once we inevitably turn the ball over.

They can hit their wingers everytime they win the ball quickly because our snail paced build up has our fullbacks well inside their half.

If we give the ball to Burns we might as well just kick it straight out for a goal kick so we can just reset.

Riis is having the same issue that Bristric had.  No service.

It's Thomas that is killing the whole game.  He is controlling the tempo and passing.

fortunately not in the squad.

serious manager yanks Reid and Burns at half time, but this loser will wait til the 70th minute to bring one of them off

Awful.

Bob the ****ing Throb needs to get gone.

I know he hasn't missed a sitter and played that one great pass to Burns, but this is the worst he's played this season. Crying out for an actual 10 with some guile in that position today

Aluko at the back and JJ on the wing.

came short and laid it off a few times, reasonable touch but literally no service to judge him as a striker

Just nothing to say, it's absolutely f...ing dreadful. Same for 4 years now, when will they learn put some bastard effort in at the very least.  Even the kids have it drummed into them that this is acceptable. Just f.ck off top and take the entire board with you. Start again

Got the ball into the box once and his header was well saved. Other than that hes had to drop into our own area to get a touch of the ball
