Manwell Pablo Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 Well Ive just been on the LCFC forum. N am facking fed up with it. I was sort of enjoying reading the stupid suggestions for our nest manager, but then Thracian had to wreck it all by bringing Alan F8*ki*N Sheehan up again. Boring. Im getting to the point where I hope he ****s off so we can all have some peace amd quiet! Any way I am going inflict some of my wrath upon you as I have now gone 24 hours with nicotiene and it is actually killing me. and nobody I actually know is showing me any kind of suppourt as they dont think I will do it for a secomd. I feel likeI want to break somthing. My head hurts I feel Dizzy and I have a high tempreture. I cannot concentrate on anything. I have drank the best part of two bottles of red and I dont feel in the slightest bit tired and doubt I will for about 4 days. All those who r younger then me never start smoking, I want to type somthing meaningful here, but my head wont allow me 2 due to the fact my brains having a mardy on because it aint getting its nicotene. To any one how has atually managed to pack in, any adivce? ( Do not say patches ect. im not using nicotene replacement.)
filbertway Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 COngratulations on giving up firstly. Ive never smoked before but from when ive seen people pack up for a long time its mainly down to their motivation and seeing the results. If you can keep it up for a week you will start to feel better and good about yourself, then if you can remember that feeling for when you really need a fag that will get you through maybe. Then at the end of each day you will feel good about yourself for not giving in
Bert Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 You say giving up is killing ya?? surely its the smoking that does that?? Only joking mate, well done on quitting it takes a lot of willpower to quit and if you stick it out then you have done absolutly excellent, I don't smoke and never will, although i do know a lot of people that do and quite frankly it isn't nice especially the effects of it later on in life.
Sir JJ Wilcox Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 i've quit drinking survived down the pub last night on orange juice got to quit smoking next
stez Posted 2 January 2006 Posted 2 January 2006 this fags will kill you thing makes me chuckle; does it mean if you don't smoke you'll live forever? anyway keep going manwell, it it only means you don't weeze your way up stairs and inflict you smoke on other people who don't fancy a lung full.

Well i guess it doesn't but it certainly makes your life a little bit longer!! It always makes me laugh when people say " i'm gonna die if i don't have a fag" too!

It always makes me laugh when people say " i'm gonna die if i don't have a fag" too! Yes I suppouse it is quite amusing when you look at it like that. Day 3 back at work. really do need one now, stressful S**T, espically with that joke of a football team making it worse last night :-/. Only bonus is the boss is off this week, which gives me 8 days nictotene free to get over the worst of it before she comes back. If she would of got an ear full off me this week had she'd been here and I would of got sacked. However I'm Pulling through... just.

Guest Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 They say the first week is the hardest, and if you get through that, you can cope with the rest. I'm a non-smoker, however, so can't verify that theory!! Good luck anyway.
MC Prussian Posted 3 January 2006 Posted 3 January 2006 Manwell, if you can, you should ask Fluffybird from the OS messageboard for advice. He stopped smoking about a year ago and has been chewing gum ever since to cope with the craving.

Theres no point. any way I feel 10x better then I did this moring thanks to you nice people

Manwell Pablo Posted 3 January 2006 Author Posted 3 January 2006 keep up the good work fella. and you do need to find something to do with your fingers and mouth, kids lollypops could help if you're rubbish with chewing gum Just been down the pub for 5 hours, and somehow lasted without one. I dunno how im doing this, then again nor do I know how im going to sleep tonight. I am starting to see the benefits though, im not going to die if I keep this up. My heart goes out to all those older smokers out there, I pressume its harder to give up aged 40. also the health gurantess aren't quite the same as they are at 21. I am starting to think of myself as a none smoker, and I can't imagine smoking again now. even through the worst football game ever almost changed that.. In regards to my fingers being busy I bought a nintendo DS and their quite good for keeping u occupied. I think its my mind more then my fingers and mouth, thats just pure habbit. It's the the nicotene withdrawle thats hurting at the minute. I know I am on the path to beating that though.

adam Posted 1 February 2006 Posted 1 February 2006 any advice manwell. Ive not smoked for a day now and im getting pretty stressed out with everyone. Think i might have to miss the pub tonight or ill end up smoking again!!
Anish Posted 1 February 2006 Posted 1 February 2006 Im still not smoking btw That's a fantastic achievement going a whole month without one. Well done
Babylon Posted 1 February 2006 Posted 1 February 2006 but then Thracian had to wreck it all by bringing Alan F8*ki*N Sheehan up again. Boring. Im getting to the point where I hope he ****s off so we can all have some peace amd quiet! Has Thracian managed to get to Feb without mentioning Sheehan?

Manwell Pablo Posted 1 February 2006 Author Posted 1 February 2006 any advice manwell. Ive not smoked for a day now and im getting pretty stressed out with everyone. Think i might have to miss the pub tonight or ill end up smoking again!! Yeah your probabley best to stay out the pubs for three days at least, I'd try and avoid beer as well, although I tended not to. It will make you want one big time. Red wine chills you out a bit more, but you look like a nancy boy haha. You will get stressed out to start off with ( looking back at some of my posts this month I was very stressed ) it does get alot easier once the habbit is broken, much more annoying then the cravings I have to say. If you know your going to pub tonight and seriouly think you aint going to manage it I wouldnt bother. Id just set a date when ur not going to be in the pub for a bit and then pack it in. Bottom line is three days are pretty difficult, as well as the cravings you do have that "ill nip for a fag after ive done this... oh wait I can't" feeling which is even worse. After a week or two it really is pretty easy.

How sad is that! So its at its worse for the first 3 days? How are you feeling now? ever tempted to stray Think ill be staying in with the mrs tonight then!!

Just joined a website on quitting smoking. How sad is that! So its at its worse for the first 3 days? How are you feeling now? ever tempted to stray Think ill be staying in with the mrs tonight then!! l Very rarely actually, only when absloutley bladdered, after three weeks all physical cravings should of gone completley, so being tempted back is not really a issue. Even if i had one now I Dont think it would hook me on it it would probabley make me ill . the habbit thing probabaley takes a week to go completely depending how much you smoke. I was on about 15-20 and it took that long any way you have to think of somthing to replace it really, somthing for your hands to do as well. I bought a Nintendo DS with the money I was going to save. Which also made it pretty finicially impossible for me to smoke, another incentive .
