Anyone else seriously worried about us keeping this guy

He was the only real player i saw give a very positive performance, the others wernt awful, just average compared to this guy. He seems to have everything, and looks to have got a little bit stronger on the ball as well.

His technique for the goal was striker-esque and he got forward as much as you could hope from a right back stroke right midfielder. Even though that run he had in the second half taking on the defender and having a poor shot wasn't dissappointing as he got himself in the position and wasn't afraid to have a go.

Defensively he's saved us one maybe two goals yesterday and made many last ditch tackles over this season.

I know recently the team have performed realy well and its hard to separate out players, but i really think this lad is too good for a mid-table championship side (i know we might push on next season but over last two years thats what we've been, mid table).

Although from his interview today it says at the end he wants confidence to carry on through to next season. But i think it would be the best 'signing' for leicester if we keep him, (hume and fryatt). I know we have other youngsters but Stearmans the one to have took his opportunity and pushed on (although there is weso as well but i can't comment on him if he is injured).

Past January, yes. At least we can be happy that our academy is finally producing some talent, even if we'll probably not be showing off the finished article.

He reminds me of Gareth Barry. Lanky, comfortable on the ball, looks OK going forward, a sort of attacking-defensive-midfielder-wing-back, if that makes sense. Not good enough for international honours, but good enough for a decent Premiership career.

I have to disagree with you there, I think he will make it into the England Set-up, after all he is still only 18.

And by the way, i loved it yesterday when he turned around to the fans and clenched his fists, passion commitment, the lot. love it.

He never seems to have a bad game even against Bolton and Spurs in the cups he was our best player. I can seriously seeing him making the England set up but I can't see that when he is playing for us.

I get the fealing though that stearman is quite commited to Leicester.

I think he'll benefit from another year here, but i do worry he could be tempted away. I could see Spurs looking at him, given their influx of British youngsters.

If he was to go we should get a few million though.

Well he kissed the badge after we scored so I'm sure he's committed to stopping here.

So did Gareth Wiliams when scoring 2 against WBA for Forest the season he left.

Plus I'm sure he supports us.

That wont make a difference If a club comes and offers him premierleague football.

Thats usually a bad sign ;)

He's got a bright future ahead of him, fingers crossed its with us.

If he stay's it all depends on the ambition of the club and thats why Players like Lineker have left in the past.

I think if we keep him for next season it will be great for the club, but you never know you see. A club can take a look at our season overall (it being not a great one) and probably not look at our players, so in a way our overall season will possibly help us out?

I do think he's a great player and I didnt think we would miss him but on Saturday he shown me, and probably a few others, that he is a great player and we did miss him for the Preston and Crystal Palace games.

Dont be so stupid. Stearman has a reputation and will definately have had scouts watching him this season.

It's going to be impossible to keep him here during the summer.

He will go to a club like man city or tottenham an then be wasted in the reserves for ever.

The only way he will stay is if we get him to play badly on purpose these last few games

he gets better and better!!

i think he will stay here for a while, when he was the main player in the programme few weeks back he said he wants to be club captain for leicester one day and thats his dream, so i can see him wanting to fill that, or atleast i really hope he does!! he has alot of potential and i wanna be able to say we have the best defender in the country hehe!!

Great player, no question.

I think he will stay, hes heart is with us, well i hope so.

Quality player. He'll make it onto the international scene by World Cup 2010. The year when Leicester have established themselves back in the Premiership (for the 2nd season that is).

Stearman was excellent against Coventry and has been all season. He does have the odd shaky spell in some games but at 18 you'd expect that. It wouldn't surprise me if he went on to be one of the best young defenders in the country, but on the other hand there are several young defenders in this country that arguably have the same or more talent than him. All I know is that it's fantastic to have produced a player like Stearman, it's been years since this club rolled out a top quality defender from their academy and I have a feeling this lad will reach the top.

His attitude is spot on, his technique is exceptional which has meant he's been able to adapt to the right back role easily. He seems to have a mature head on young shoulders and I think he's fully aware of what he wants to do in his career and at 18 he's in no rush to jump ship just to play in the premiership. He's still learning his trade and isn't even playing in his natural position, even though I think right back will more than likely be his destination for the next 10-15 years. He'll get better and better and he's best to stay here until he's atleast 20, which hopefully by then we might have improved massively and give him the premiership football he deserves.

Gifted.

It may be that his slight dip in form recently was almost entirely due to carrying persistent niggling injuries and that the short break has done wonders for him.

For a full-back he makes scoring look easy when he gets the chance - genuine footballer.

He's a real advertisement for our faith in the Academy and when I hear Mickey Adams name being linked with Wolves I'm eternally grateful that we're going the young and youthful route to what I'm sure will be eventual success.

Let's hope Kelly has the same views as Levein did on this though. I'm sure he will do, but with us not having much money it will be harder to sign younger players as they usually cost money unless you get lucky with a bigger club releasing youngsters, etc. What Kelly must do is be a figure head for the academy players and that they will be rewarded if they perform well for the academy and the reserves and we should up our recruitment of youngsters for the academy from all corners of the world if necessary such as this Icelandic lad we've rumoured to have signed.

The good thing about Kelly is he's spent the best part of 10 years coaching and recruiting young players, it's second nature to him. That should be a massive benefit to this club and I hope Kelly continues to do it at Leicester.
