Am I alone in the following sentiments?

He has been good for us this season, mediocre otherwise. Good striker of the ball. Either seems to be giving 100% or 10%. Suffers from ill discipline.

He's a good player and I don't hold the fact that he's moving away against him. I just hate it when players like this who move at EVERY opportunity then feel the need to come out with a bollocks press release. If he was that sad to leave, he wouldn't be leaving.

I think that's a tad harsh. Just because you enjoy working at one place it doesn't mean you should stay there for time immemorial. It's a great opportunity for him and a step up in career terms, so he's made the right decision imo. Just because he's moving it doesn't mean he won't be sad to leave, he still had a great rapport with the fans.

Besides, I don't think he's moved clubs at EVERY opportunity as you suggest. He moved from Betis to Villa on loan, which they didn't make permanent, and then moved to Wolves on loan, which again they didn't make permanent. It's not his fault Betis didn't want him, so he had to move to play some football.

Spot on Joeys has done the rounds taking into consideration his 25, He's been good for the most part this season but he has had five or six really shocking games, and he is extremly ill displined, him and Mcarthy have probabley earnt us another post season fine. As I said awhile ago he didn't have to leave, all this rubbish about him having a family is crap he's a proffesional footballer, he earns more in a month then we do in a year, he aint gonna be short of money is he. He will also more then likely win PP and FP of the year as well goal of the season. He wouldn't of been short of contract offers, and would of offered him more the likely.

He saw four years a very nice wage and UEFA cup football, I bet he cant wait. As I have also said before I dont blame him.

As this is a Joey love-in I'll keep a dignified silence, and just say he did score some fantastic goals!!!

Very diplomatic. I think it's something we can all agree on, too.

For the most part though, I maintain my stance and agree with Manwell.

All the best Joey thanks for the good memories!

Gudjon Thordasson's sudden apparent withdrawl from the running for the manager's hotseat now appears a little clearer.

Haha good spot.

that's quite right. last season he was dreadful. this season he's been a bit better, but nowhere near the muzzy/lennon levels!

I can't believe that the word 'legend' is even being bandied about here.

He had one very poor season and one hit and miss one in which he scored some good goals. Am I missing something or have our standards and expectations dropped that low?

Very true , he had a good season but to talk about him in the same breath as Walshy , Muzzy etc is sickening.

Damn, and he was going to be my next contribution to the Legends thread after Walshy & Muzzy.

He was recently on the moan in, you could tell from what he was saying that he wasn't currently happy at Burnley and that he preferred Coyne over Laws.

No offence to Joey but signing him would be a step backwards as nice as the sentiments would be.

I quite liked him as a player when he was at Leicester though.

He pretty much said on the phone in a couple of weeks ago that he wanted to come back. Considering he'd be a free agent and is only 29, I think we could do much worse than have him in the squad. When you think that Clemence has definitely retired, I doubt very much Oakley will be here next year, and the same goes for Adrejavic, Verma and Weslowski, we'll need some central midfielders.

I'm not saying he would be a first team regular, but if Nigel was interested, as a squad player I think he'd be ideal.

No thanks, the bloke has proven himself to be a complete arsehole. He wasn't even that good when he was here, apart from his long range goals his game was very limited.

This goal in particular.... :scarf:
