Can't believe it's four years since he left, and that must mean it's over four years since his goal from the halfway line which feels like yesterday. Totally ridiculous.

What did he do?

Completely undermined Brian Laws by saying he'd lost the dressing room e.t.c. ..........................Burnley's next result.......a 4-1 win.

He's just got the mardys because the manager's realised he's no way good enough to play in the Premiership.

Decent player but no improvement on what we've got

What's happened to G Williams by the way? Been meaning to ask for a while.

He's no Gareth Williams... :D

According to Wiki....

'Gareth John Williams (born 16 December 1981) is a Scottish professional footballer of Welsh descent, who currently is a free agent' :o

Would be a great signing on a free, evn as a squad player.

And he was the last player we ever had who could take set pieces and score 'great' goals so why not?

Gallagher scored a couple of free kicks this year and he has also scored A great goal, the lob against Palace

Would have had Williams back in a heartbeat but he's had a terrible injury so probably would struggle at our level now.

Williams struggled at our level when he was with us.

I'll be honest I absolutely adored him for those few months when we seemed invincible under Kelly. His goals were stunning and I loved his trademark little fake, line up to shoot then slide it through to Hume/Fryatt. Lovely.

But no, give me Wellens and especially King anyday.

Yet he has only scored in three games all season. He has had plenty more free kicks that have gone miles wide than the two that he scored. Joey G used to be able to get them on target from 30-35 yeards not just the edge of the area.

I remember the one at Stoke away, that was amazing.

I used to think he was great back in the day, always gave it all and had that bit of quality to go with it as well.

As for Gareth Williams, I have absolutely no idea why anybody would even consider him. Never any good for us.

What's this about Williams?! He was non existent every week! He's probably not even been injured or now a free agent. Just nobodies noticed him playing most likely!

Correct.

I used to love Joey.

But the squad has moved on, and I think our midfielders at the minute are better than Joey.

He's not a premiership player at all, and I believe we should only be signing players now, with the ability or potential to play in the Premier League. Joey has neither.

I was chatting to a guy who was a good friend of Gareth Williams dad; they used to travel down from Scotland to watch him play. He said he was amazed because Gareth didn't like football and wasn't the least bit interested in playing.

I've heard similar things said about him before. I think it's fair to say that his desire didn't match his ability

Astounding, it never showed on the pitch :D
