dandannieldanok Posted 22 May 2006 Posted 22 May 2006 For me Palace shoud have taken the 8mil offer from Bolton, i only rate him 2-4mil if that. What do you think?
Wils Posted 22 May 2006 Posted 22 May 2006 Definatly he isnt worth 8million thats a joke,2 or 3 million would be a fair price.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 23 May 2006 Posted 23 May 2006 apparantly simon jordan is holding out for 12mill that berbatov was only 10.9 i can't believe some teams a stupid enough to pay silly money on a bloke who had a lucky season in front of goal 2 years ago its the same story with baros, beattie and angel to name a few

Jay Posted 23 May 2006 Posted 23 May 2006 I think he's very overated imo spent most of the match at the Walkers falling over, sitting on the floor and moaning at the officials!!! £8million is crazy money for a player of his standard it's no wonder teams go abroad to buy players Arsenal have just paid far less than that Rosicky!!!

He's a decent premiership striker.
Manwell Pablo Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 Jordan's clearly lost it. He's thrown his toys out of his pram because Palace haven't gone up. He's got rid of Dowie.... so thats any serious potential promotion attempt seriously put in jeapordy, unless he gets a very good replacement <_< . Now, (best of all) he wants 12 MILLION for AJ. Thats cheaper then 95% of the players Arsenal have bought <_< 8 Million put in the right hands ( i.e. Dowies )could probabley send that club up and keep them up. The blokes a idoit with no footballing or business sense.

NFFC Chris Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 Well I'd say £6 million would be a fair value for him but £12 million is ludicrus. He could have just been a one season wonder in the premiership as well and it would be a bit of a gamble signing him.
Ric Flair Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 £5 million would be about right maybe abit less. He did have a very good season in the premiership and an explosive one the season before in the championship. Still scored a fair few this season given he had 2 fairly lengthy injuries.
Leicester Lass Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 What does this mean for Conolley though? Surely he'll be on his way of AJ signs.
Bert Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 £8.5m is stupid, he's an average striker as shown at the Walkers Stadium this season, at one point i thought that **** Jordan had priced Johnson out of a move slapping a £12m tag on him.
Milky Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 just think what you could do with 8.5 million. i am stunned.
Ultra Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 Wigan have more money than sense. But who are we to complain, after what they paid us for Connolly?
Newcastle_Fox Posted 24 May 2006 Posted 24 May 2006 £8.5M Bid Accepted From Wigan Ridiculous why now, why dont u wait till after the world cup to see if there are any bargains to snap up which will much likely better than AJ.

Agree. he's a mardy bastard and unloyal, he'll probably leave wigan if he went there the season after to a better team that have more money than sense. i'm glad wigan seem to have cooled their pursuit of stearman.
Ric Flair Posted 25 May 2006 Posted 25 May 2006 Wigan have money to burn though. They paid vastly over the odds for Connolly and they look to be doing so with Johnson and they are also reported to be ready to offer £5.5 million for Robert Huth!! A player who hardly ever plays and hasn't done anything to warrant a price tag of that. He's a decent player but if they want a centre half why don't they give us £3.5 million for any of ours.
Stevosevic Posted 25 May 2006 Posted 25 May 2006 hes not even worth 5 million. he scores 10 penalties in the premiership + everybody says how good he is because he scored 20 goals.
Ric Flair Posted 25 May 2006 Posted 25 May 2006 hes not even worth 5 million. he scores 10 penalties in the premiership + everybody says how good he is because he scored 20 goals. He did score 35 goals the season they got promoted though and scored 21 in the premiership which even if 10 were penalties still isn't bad for a team that went down. He's scoring record is pretty good and that's why his value would be £5 million. Look at Ashton he went for £7 mill and although I prefer Ashton, his goalscoring record isn't as good as Johnson's in the past few seasons.
Anish Posted 25 May 2006 Posted 25 May 2006 Bolton have offered £8.5m now too. Madness. He's well overrated, worth £2m tops imo. Last season Liverpool paid over the odds for Crouch, this season Wigan/Bolton will be doing likewise for Johnson. They need to get some decent financial advisers oop north
