He is an arrogant, petulant little fukc ~ granted, but he is not responsible for our exit. WE are responsible for our exit. Did we make chances? Did we take our chances? Did we put the match to bed before penalities? All this talk of Ronaldo 'not daring to return to England' is simply pathetic - grow up the fudging lot of you. He , and any member of the Portugal squad, should be welcome in England because all they did was play a game of football. If any of you can not accept that then go and get some fukcing therapy...

He'd better get a P.O Box number as the nation's death threat writers'll be busy over the weekend.* *Not that I condone death threats - it's just a bit of a national obsession these days. It was especially painful watching the replay, and seeing an obvious foul from two sides on Rooney - but the ref decided not to penalise them but Rooney. I'm sick of the refs ****ing this game up for everyone. To hell with the offside rule, and let's get ourselves a bigger net with two strikers for every team. That way the ref's calls won't meat sh*t. I was spewing at the disgraceful display of acrobatics I saw from those Portugese wankers. Ronaldo is a spineless git.

If you choose to label the Portuguese performance yesterday as "football", perhaps it is YOU who it is in need of therapy. Ronaldo and his team-mates are lying, diving, cheating scumbags - simple as. But ultimately, I hate Sven more than them, as he's fcuked our team up for years to come!

eaststandtom Posted 2 July 2006 Posted 2 July 2006 this may piss a few people off. but it is a professional game and players wind eachother up. anything to get an edge particular when the line between success and failure is so fine. ronaldo did what the likes of robbie savage and lennon did for city for years. used whatever they could to get the best result possible for their side. sure it is ' not in the spirit of the game' and he shouldnt have done it to his club mate but for a place in the world cup semi final who wouldnt be prepared to take a dive or try to influence the referee for the benefit of their team? let this not take away anything from the fact england were tactically inept thanks to eriksson's continued persistance in playing lampard and gerrard together. that is what it stems to. had one been dropped from the beginning (lampard in my opinion) there would have been no need to revert to 4-5-1 half way through a major tournament and rooney would have had the support he needed up front from a 2nd striker thus not become so frustrated getting HIMSELF sent off. basically it was a big anti climax and england were not good enough performance wise and tactically and the so called big names were shown to come up short. quite symbolic lampard and gerrard took two poor penalties. talk about being led to the gallows when they took their shots!!! in my opinion ronaldo cant be held to account for english football being shown upto to be really a bit of a con. best players in the world playing in the best league in the world? do me a favour

The Porugese on the whole were not as bad as some teams have been in this tournament regarding cheating, and ask for Ronaldo I have always hated the way he acts on a football pitch, I was not surprised to see him act the way he did. It isn't his fault we are out though, its not really any ones, its just a unfortuante fact of life that Fat Frank and Stevie G have a communication problem which Ericson has worked tirelesly to correct but unfortuantely he hasnt the brains to do it. The injury to Owen left us a world class striker down, we didnt take enough cover, We cant take peanlties and we arent good enough. Roll on August 5th.

Whenever there is a foul that is looks a bit tasty its a given that Johhny Foriegner will rush in waving his virtual card - it happens all the time. We know this, the players know it too. Rooney is a hot head - the Portagees knew this, especially Ronaldo - cnut that he is. If we don't wantv to join in the Gamesmanship we have to rise above it, don't stamp on someones bollox, don't go sliding in like its a wet Tuesday night in Grimsby, be better than that. Above all play the game like you do in the Premiership, especially in tournements. Its what we are good at high tempo attacking stuff, posession is only any good if you do something with it. Something was wrong, tactics, formation, confidence - we wernt sure about any of these were we. Even so we came close to making a Semi final. WE don't need to change that much, just the impotant bits like scoring. Being a Leicester fan and and English fan is hard collar, but I can't change my allegiance just be cause we a a bit shyte at the moment. Hargreaves = top chap.

What I do love about all this is how Alex Ferguson's playing staff is dictated by who knocks England out of the World Cup. He must be apoplectic.
Dr The Singh Posted 3 July 2006 Posted 3 July 2006 I'm not condoning the behaviour of carvalho or ronaldo, but these shaninigans are all part and parcel of the modern game, every bloody footballer is at it, it's a disease which the refs should have eliminated years ago. I hate players that dive etc and have never liked ronaldo from the off, I only wished the FA\FIFA would stamp down on play acting, questioning ref's decisions by dishing yellow cards. All I can say about the refs of the world cup is inconsistant, we see figo headbutt a player and gets only a yellow!!!
