But there were few quality games, and even fewer consistently good players (and most of them were goalkeepers or defenders). Pirlo's pass for Italy's first against the Germans was my best moment of the World Cup.

The People's Hero Posted 10 July 2006 Posted 10 July 2006 1) The usual media hype build up and us supposedly being the best in the world.. 4 years of build up and dreaming and nonsence and then 2 weeks of being brought back to earth with a healthy dose of realism. 2) The bizarre Zidane headbutt, brilliant. 3) Complete refusal of SOME England fans to accept we weren't good enough, preferring to blame many many others for our failure.
