Durnerz Posted 15 August 2006 Posted 15 August 2006 Have a look at what Arsenal are charging for a ticket at the Emirates stadium! £94! Who in the right mind would fork out that for 90 minutes? If you wanted to take your family out for the day there you'd need to take out a loan!
filbertway Posted 15 August 2006 Posted 15 August 2006 I wouldn't fancy being one of the top 4 clubs in the prem if I had to apy that much to watch my team. I suppose untill they stop forking out stupid prices for wages then the fans will have to pay these stupidly high prices. They should bring in a wage cap of £200,000 a week (total wages) for any club.
Phube Posted 15 August 2006 Posted 15 August 2006 £46... cheapest adult price!!! shocking!! And why the hell is West Ham an A grade fixture?
Alexikokopops Posted 15 August 2006 Posted 15 August 2006 £46... cheapest adult price!!! shocking!! And why the hell is West Ham an A grade fixture? London love in. It's only £46 cheapest on those 5 Grade A fixtures, £32 doesn't seem that bad when an Adult ticket at Derby could cost you £33.

I think it would be better £20'000 per player, across Europe Big clubs would kick up a fuss for only £200'000 per week for thier whole team
SystonFox Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 and how much will away fans prices be set at? if we drew them in the cup id love to go to that new stadium in its 1st yr, but each leicester fan paying £50 to £60 (or higher as they can charge what they like, people will still go?!) is very high pricing.

I'm sure if they were playing some lowly based Championship team the prices would be lowered accordingly like we are doing with Macclesfield or Blackpool previously. So that'll be £30 then
Master Fox Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 It's probably cheaper to fly to Spain and watch Real Madrid or Barca?
Floating Fox Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Its a **** joke, I cant wait for the day when people will boycott football matches and the FA actaully HAS to change something. Its a shame that REAL football fans can't go to games any more...

Its a shame that REAL football fans can't go to games any more... Yeah, just because I've got some money means I'm not a REAL fotball fan..
Floating Fox Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Yeah, just because I've got some money means I'm not a REAL fotball fan.. Never stated that I was just reffering to all the "commercial" people that turn up and people that sit in the "posh" stands (West Stand at the Walkers)
Jon the Hat Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Never stated that I was just reffering to all the "commercial" people that turn up and people that sit in the "posh" stands (West Stand at the Walkers) So if my company buys me a ticket I'm not a real fan either? I'd say very few people would go to a football match if they weren't interested. Either way, if they are sitting in a box, someone is paying alot more tht the average fan for the priveledge. Good for the club, if they weren't your ticket would be more expensive.

Jon the Hat Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 As I have said before Man United have extremly competitve prices, comparable to our own. Easy in the North though In contrast, tickets at Woking FC, my nearest club, aren't a lot cheaper than City, and they are in the Conference.
davieG Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Yeah, just because I've got some money means I'm not a REAL fotball fan.. I don't think the FA can do anything about it, action is either needed at individual club level, league level, FA level, by Uefa, but none of these are going to act unilaterally and who can blame them. The only people that could actually do anything are FIFA and the big nobs group of clubs whose name escapes me. Either way those two Groups can't even agree how International games should be organised let alone something as radically as wages and pricing. As long as football remains a cash cow curtesy of satelite TV nothing will happen.
Collymore Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 Well all businesses would charge more if they could get away with it. leicester wouldn't think twice of charging those prices if they could still fill the Walkers every week. Football is not just a sport, it's a business and prices have to meet demand otherwise Arsenal wouldn't be running efficiently at all.
Knighton Matt Posted 16 August 2006 Posted 16 August 2006 The only possible control over the price of tickets is if there was a salary cap. Any business will always try and match income and expenditure. Main source of income - Match tickets Main source of expenditure - Player's salaries Whilst the latter goes up so will the former. A salary cap similar to rugby's premiership is the only way to stop ticket prices increasing year after year.
